PROJECT TITLE
Ideas: FRUIT & LABOR/ Reap What You Sow

II.

PROJECT RATIONALE
With 89% of the working citizens of Kasiglahan Village (block 6) having
no alternative jobs, having a permanent and stable source of income is an everpresent problem residents are faced with. In addition to this, 63.54% of the
people interviewed indicated that they do not have skills, rendering them
unprepared and unable to find jobs. Providing residents with programs that can
help boost their self-esteem and confidence will not only help them find and apply
for jobs but also help in motivating them to work harder.
As a solution for these problems, the regulated tree-planting activity
together with the skills training and seminar programs would help the residents of
Kasiglahan Village to attain an alternative source of income, and acquire skills
they need to motivate them and even make a living out of. Looking at a widened
scope, the tree-planting activity would also provide the community with a more
ecologically sound environment to live and prosper in.
