School Culture

PROBLEM

Not all of the students in the class greet me well. I feel

disappointed with them. I know that not all of them like
this. So I need to do something to make sure that all of
the students greet me whenever I enter the classroom.
Besides, we are also in the process of surveying the
suitable room such as SAL room as our main group
project.

ANALYSIS

When I first entered the classroom, the students did not

welcome me well. I waited for quite some time until all of
them stand up and pay their attention to me. I greet them
first and some of them did not respond instead they play
with their friend. Then in terms of the project, I consulted
with the coordinating teacher for SAL room about what
we need to do to upgrade the room.

SUGGESTION/ACTION

Next time, I will remind the class monitor to be more alert

towards the teacher presence in the class and asks her
classmates to be ready. As a classroom technique, it was
associated with theories of behaviourism. I am not
expecting them to greet me first, but they should be ready
once they see the teacher in the classroom, not fooling
around all the time and wait until the teacher asks them
to greet. Then I will draft the paper work so that we can
start the project as soon as possible

whenever I enter their class and the paper works are
ready.

FOCUS

Planning of Lesson

PROBLEM

Starting from the second week, I will be taking over the

class from my cooperating teacher. Last week, I just got
to know my students. Therefore, starting this week, I had
to plan the flow of my lesson. This had caused some
worries as Im not sure if my lesson plan could be carried
out smoothly.

ANALYSIS

To plan a successful lesson, a lot of effort should be put

into the planning stage. Great lesson plan should have its
own focus and flow to make sure the effectiveness of the
implementation of the lesson.

SUGGESTION/ACTION

I should refer from several books or sources to make a

lesson plan which will produce an engaging classroom.
Other than that, my students are the best source of
references. In every lesson, I should took observed and
be alert of my pupils reaction when I conduct a lesson.
This could give me some insight on the types of activities
that my students like the most and should plan several
activities which are similar to the preferred activities. This
is one of the main point in making sure the lesson is
enjoyed and beneficial at the same time to the pupils.

The skills of planning a lesson plan which is beneficial

and enjoyable at the same time should be improved in a
week time. This is to make sure that the planning of
lesson for next week is splendid.

Community in school

PROBLEM

I only have four weeks in school. I did not have plenty of

time to mingle with teachers and staff. I have to finished
my project before the end if week 4. I have difficulties to
interact with others because too focused on the work.
This is not a conducive working environment. I also have
less interaction hour with pupils.
To be a great teacher we must know how to manage our
time between work and social life. We live in community
in school so we have to socialize in order to share
knowledge and experience.
I should manage my time well and avoid procrastination.
This is to ensure that my work finished on time and I have
enough time to mingle with others. I should asked help
form other teachers to create the bonding among us. This
is a good experience for me in future when becoming a
teacher soon. I have to sustain the good relationship with
colleague to create a conducive working environment.
I used four weeks to sustain the good relationship with
other.

Project in school

PROBLEM

Cooperation among colleagues and staff were not an

easy things to get. They have their own work and not
understand my project. I have three project in school that
I have to finish within four weeks.
To be a great teacher we must know how to manage our
time between work and social life. We live in community
in school so we have to socialize in order to share
knowledge and experience. Understanding is the key
point in this problem. If they understand our project and
shortage in time they will be more helpful. New teacher
always have difficulties in communication with others. I
have to overcome that to get the full support from all the
teachers and staff.
I should manage my time well and avoid procrastination.
This is to ensure that my work finished on time and I have
enough time to mingle with others. I should asked help
form other teachers to create the bonding among us. This
is a good experience for me in future when becoming a
teacher soon. I have to sustain the good relationship with
colleague to create a conducive working environment. I
divide my work with my friend so that we can be more
effective.
