INTRODUCTION
Let me introduce you to the 30 Day Launch program for job seekers. It is built on
the firm foundation that Gods Word is true and His promises are real. When God
says that we will receive all that we need and more if we seek the Kingdom first, He
means it.
So this is a plan for the first month of your job search. It is designed to focus you on
Gods top priorities first and then utilize His Ask, Seek, and Knock strategy as the
foundation for your job search. This is the process Ive written about in Employed
for Life: When Can You Start?- God so if you want further insights or a more
thorough look at this subject you may want to read the book. This training program
will introduce you to some of the key ideas presented there and should provide
enough for you to effectively prepare for and implement your search for new
employment opportunities. The Holy Spirit will take you to the exact spot in the
workplace where you can prosper and be a blessing if you will devote the time and
energy to learn to this process Gods way!
This process is divided into four themes that are described below. It is intended to be
used in the order presented with the completion of a single lesson every day.
If
used in this way, the entire process will take six weeks to complete and will have you
actively in the job market by your fourth week. The first two weeks of your search
will be spent getting established in your identity in Christ and prepared for the
process. In the third week youll spend time learning all about yourself from Gods
point of view. Your fourth week will be spent learning about the marketplace and the
resources youll use to find your way around. Finally, weeks five and six will help you
put your job search strategy into action.
For believers, the job search process starts with a clear understanding of our
relationship to God and His relationship to our work.
To move forward with
confidence we must understand that we work for God and we cannot be unemployed.
He is and always will be our provider. He gives us our assignments, provides the
resources we need, and sees to it we are paid. He owns everything and is in no way
limited by the fact that you are temporarily out of the workforce. He has something
great for you in this time of unemployment. So, the first two weeks youll focus on
stirring up faith, setting up an office, and getting into His Word to discover what He
has in mind for you.
The Ask and it will be given phase requires us to get clear about our Kingdom
purpose and Gods perspective on us as individuals. We have the marvelous
opportunity to go the throne room of God and ask our Creator our questions. What
was I designed for? What is the best use of my skills and talents? How can I be a
great witness for the kingdom? What do you want for me to accomplish while Im
unemployed, Lord? How can I most fully cooperate and align with your perfect will?
And, what, if anything, am I carrying in the way of baggage that might hold me back
from all that you have planned for me? In this week youll identify your career focus,
write your resume, and discover your marketable skills. This is also the time to let
go of the past and to prepare your references.

Page 1
The Seek and you will find phase refers to information gathering and market
research. You will learn about the workplace, positions, industries, and employer
needs. Hidden opportunities and support resources will be revealed to you.
Remember, God has promised hidden treasures for believers. He will lead you,
through divine connections and a still, small voice, to find places where you can be
blessed and be a blessing. In this week youll begin to make employment contacts,
research the marketplace, and build your network.
Knock and the door will be opened is the final phase of the strategy. It guides
you to excellence in self-presentation from resumes and correspondence to
telephone techniques, interviewing skills and follow up activities. Wherever you go
you will be able to let your light shine so others will see it and give glory to your
Father who is in heaven. The skills youll develop this week will build your confidence
and support you as you go out to interview. Youll review standards of professional
dress and presentation and build your skills at responding to common and tough
interview questions. Most importantly, youll practice reliance on Gods grace to carry
you through the process.

Ask God for the things that you want, then believe that you have
received them.
Meditate on the scriptures UNTIL they speak out to you, personally. (Rhema
word) Remember God is not going to your will; He is going to do His will for and
through you.
3. Let every thought, word, and desire affirm the fact that you have what
you ask.
Know that your answer already exists in the spirit realm (Kingdom of God) and is
waiting to manifest in the natural realm. See yourself with it!
4. Guard your thoughts.
Thoughts are products of observations, associations, and teaching so be careful
about who and what you allow in. (See Mark 4:14+)
5. Think constantly on the promises on which you based the answer to your
prayer.
Take some corresponding action(s).
Make plans as though it has already
happened.
6. In your waking moments, think on the Love, Goodness, Mercy, and
Blessing of God. It will boost your faith. Constantly praise God for who He is
and what He has already done!
Be anxious for nothingAnd the peace of God, which surpasses understanding,
will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus. Phil 4:6+
Use your mouth often and out loud. Hebrews 13:15+
7. Make every word related to your prayer request a statement of faith.
Line your words up. You are telling the truth in advance, based on what God
says.

CAR Stories
The best indicator of future behavior is past behavior. So, if you want
the interviewer to KNOW that you can do what you claim, you need to let
him/her see when youve done that skill or demonstrated that attribute in
the past. Your goal is to create a little movie in your mind and then play it
back for the interviewer. For each story tell the:
Conditions you faced, Actions you took and Result you achieved.
Method One: Pick a favorite accomplishment from school or work and tell
the story. Then determine what that story proves about you and use that
story whenever the interviewer asks about those skills or attributes.
Method Two:
Look at the skills and attributes you identified in the
assessments. Identify those attributes most likely to be of interest to the
interviewer based upon the open position. Write a CAR story for each of
those attributes.

Breakthrough Tips
Identify the Right Name
Before you can make a contact, you need to know the name of the person
you are calling.
1) Call the main phone number and ask the receptionist for the name of the
executive of the function you are targeting. "Could you please tell me the
name of the Vice President of R&D?" Ask the person to spell the name and
give you the correct title.
2) If the central receptionist is unwilling to give you this information, ask to
be transferred to the secretary of that department's vice president.
3) If you hit another brick wall with the secretary, call back one more time
and ask for Accounts Payable or Billing. When they answer, explain that
you were trying to reach the "Director ___." Ask if they could give you a
name and extension to prevent any further confusion and misplaced calls
like this one!
4) Whenever you are given a name and title, ask the operator or company
representative to confirm it. "I have some correspondence for Fred
Ramirez. Is he still the Vice President of Nursing?" Confirm spelling, title,
and address.
5) If the name you have, or the one you receive from the receptionist, is
initials, an unfamiliar name or is a unisex first name, ask "Is this a man or
woman?"
Get to the Right Person
If you find yourself getting stonewalled by receptionists review these tips.
1) Use a tone of voice that sounds professional and encourages help. Dont
sound demanding.
2) Be brief. Be patient. Other calls may interrupt your attempt to get exact
information.
3) Be courteous. Thank the receptionist for the information.
4) Get the name of every secretary and telephone answerer. It is much more
cordial and effective to address someone by name, especially when calling
repeatedly.
5) Ask for the targeted individual by name. "Is (first name) in today?" is a
good way to determine whether to call back or delay calling for another
day.

Technology Power
VOICE MAILDont be discouraged if you are greeted by voicemail.
This is an opportunity to sound upbeat and charming and to politely
demonstrate persistence.
Have a script already written out with an appropriate voice mail message
before you make the call.
Vary the times when you callearly morning, just before lunch, 6 pm
Be brief and to the point.
Pronounce your name clearly, perhaps even spelling it if it is difficult to
understand. Give your phone number slowly.
Give a specific window of availability to receive the return call. ("I'll be at this
number between 2:00 - 5:00 pm this afternoon.")
If there's no return call, you can call again to repeat the process. Call more
than 5 times! Most people quit after three. Persistence will pay off.
EMAIL
Dont send broadcast, impersonal emails. Always send to one person at a
time and address that person by name.
When using someone as a referral, be sure to copy him/her on your email.
It alerts the referring party that the contact has been made and lets the
recipient know that the referral was real.
Send resumes and references in attachments, not in the body of the email
JOB BOARDS/RESUME POSTING
Create a scannable resume that has no fancy fonts, underlining, clever
graphics, or other elements that wont transmit well.
Post a scannable version of your resume on the major job boards. Just dont
put all your eggs in this basket if you want a really good job.
Expect telephone calls and screening interviews at all times. (Weekends and
evenings especially!) Be sure your telephone answering message, and those
answering the phone, represent you well.
Use cut and paste features and a master document when completing online
applications, to avoid typing everything from scratch.
Guard your time when applying since this is a real long shot for most job
applicants. Only invest time if you match position requirements very closely.
Modify your resume to use the exact terms in the job posting.

Emotions fuel our behaviors and, left to themselves, always lead us into sin and
away from God. Why? They are a part of mans soul and not automatically
transformed by Christ. Where do emotions come from? Our thinking, also a part
of the soul self.
We get angry in our minds before anger comes. We are depressed in our minds
before depression settles in. Once the emotion arrives, a bad decision is soon
to follow.
Where do our thoughts come from?
Observations-What are we giving our attention to?
Associations-Who or what are we spending our time with?
Teaching-What have we been taught by others?
How do we bring a wrong thought into captivity?
God.
Isaiah 55:8-10 For My thoughts are not your thoughts, Nor are your ways My
ways, says the LORD. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are My
ways higher than your ways, And My thoughts than your thoughts. For as the
rain comes down, and the snow from heaven, And do not return there, But

Overcoming Objections
Most people have too much to do and too little time to do it. So realize
that the objections you will likely encounter are not personal. They are a by
product of schedules that are hectic and the effort of busy decision makers to
protect their valuable time. Do not be offended or immobilized by objections,
rise to the challenge and overcome them.
Objection:
Response:
"I realize that. Right now I'm only looking for information
and I understand that you are a great resource for
information about the Industry."
"I realize your time Is limited. Would you have five or ten
minutes right now to answer a few questions?"

Contact Guidelines
1. Identify yourself and your purpose within the first ten
seconds. Explain that you are looking for a new position and would
appreciate their advice.
2. Ask for three to five minutes and limit yourself to it! Be sure it
s a good time for your contact to talk.
3. Briefly review your goals, special skills and work experience.
(Use an abbreviated version of your Executive Summary)
4. Ask for information that may be helpful in your search and for
names of people or organizations that may have openings in your
area of expertise.
5. Ask if you can use their name as you contact others,
6. Be positive and express confidence that something will turn up.
7. Always put your best foot forward. Do not think you can be
sloppy or casual because you are friends..
8. Thank them for their time, and ask if you can call again.
9. Do not ask contact to initiate contacts for you. Use the
information your contact provides and do the contacting
yourself.

Cashing In
Proverbs 26:2 ...the curse causeless cannot come.
There is always a reason why a believer who has been given THE BLESSING fails
to see it manifest in his/her life. The reason is never God. It is also not
something to blame entirely on the devil. We have the opportunity to make a
demand on our Blessing account and take out a withdrawal AND we have the
ability to block ourselves from cashing in!
FAITHFULNESS
Trustworthy, strict and thorough in the
performance of duty, dependable...
Laboring in the Word, laboring in holiness,
laboring in love and service...fulfilling the
Kingdom purposes.
How faithful are you with what youve already
been given? Spouse, family, friends, work,
church...Can God trust you?
PURE HEART
Blessed are the pure in heart for they shall see
God. Do you want to see God in your finances,
your work, your health, your relationships?
MOTIVE=the need, desire, fear or reason that
prompts action. It is ALL that matters to God.
He looks upon the heart of the matter.
What matters is integrity in our hearts. Satan
wants to defile the heart with unbelief. We are
called to guard it and stand in faith on the Word.
TITHE
Malachi 3:8 You bring the tithe and God opens
the heavens to pour out BLESSING...in the form
of incorruptible Word seed.
Then the Kingdom process has to take place.
We SOW the seed, on good ground, with our
mouth in confessions, God causes the seed to
grow we know not how, we guard the seed (our
hearts) with all diligence and the harvest comes!
DISOBEDIENCE
Partial and delayed obedience=
Disobedience
Offense and Unforgiveness
Sin
Selfishness
UNFAITHFULNESS
Laboring to be richProverbs 23:4,
20:21,13:11,and 28:20
Do you claim to believe but labor in
priorities that have nothing to do with the
Kingdom? How consistent and faithful are
you to love, pray, act on the Word...?
NO TITHE EXCHANGE
You say you trust but you wont put your
money where your mouth is!
You tithe but not in faith... grudgingly,
legalistically, to force Gods hand...
