Employed for Life Ministry: 30 Day Launch Program

INTRODUCTION
Let me introduce you to the 30 Day Launch program for job seekers. It is built on
the firm foundation that Gods Word is true and His promises are real. When God
says that we will receive all that we need and more if we seek the Kingdom first, He
means it.
So this is a plan for the first month of your job search. It is designed to focus you on
Gods top priorities first and then utilize His Ask, Seek, and Knock strategy as the
foundation for your job search. This is the process Ive written about in Employed
for Life: When Can You Start?- God so if you want further insights or a more
thorough look at this subject you may want to read the book. This training program
will introduce you to some of the key ideas presented there and should provide
enough for you to effectively prepare for and implement your search for new
employment opportunities. The Holy Spirit will take you to the exact spot in the
workplace where you can prosper and be a blessing if you will devote the time and
energy to learn to this process Gods way!
This process is divided into four themes that are described below. It is intended to be
used in the order presented with the completion of a single lesson every day.
If
used in this way, the entire process will take six weeks to complete and will have you
actively in the job market by your fourth week. The first two weeks of your search
will be spent getting established in your identity in Christ and prepared for the
process. In the third week youll spend time learning all about yourself from Gods
point of view. Your fourth week will be spent learning about the marketplace and the
resources youll use to find your way around. Finally, weeks five and six will help you
put your job search strategy into action.

CHOOSE A KINGDOM JOB SEARCH

For believers, the job search process starts with a clear understanding of our
relationship to God and His relationship to our work.
To move forward with
confidence we must understand that we work for God and we cannot be unemployed.
He is and always will be our provider. He gives us our assignments, provides the
resources we need, and sees to it we are paid. He owns everything and is in no way
limited by the fact that you are temporarily out of the workforce. He has something
great for you in this time of unemployment. So, the first two weeks youll focus on
stirring up faith, setting up an office, and getting into His Word to discover what He
has in mind for you.

ASK ABOUT GODS WILL AND PURPOSES FOR YOU

The Ask and it will be given phase requires us to get clear about our Kingdom
purpose and Gods perspective on us as individuals. We have the marvelous
opportunity to go the throne room of God and ask our Creator our questions. What
was I designed for? What is the best use of my skills and talents? How can I be a
great witness for the kingdom? What do you want for me to accomplish while Im
unemployed, Lord? How can I most fully cooperate and align with your perfect will?
And, what, if anything, am I carrying in the way of baggage that might hold me back
from all that you have planned for me? In this week youll identify your career focus,
write your resume, and discover your marketable skills. This is also the time to let
go of the past and to prepare your references.

SEEK OPPORTUNITIES TO BE A BLESSING

The Seek and you will find phase refers to information gathering and market
research. You will learn about the workplace, positions, industries, and employer
needs. Hidden opportunities and support resources will be revealed to you.
Remember, God has promised hidden treasures for believers. He will lead you,
through divine connections and a still, small voice, to find places where you can be
blessed and be a blessing. In this week youll begin to make employment contacts,
research the marketplace, and build your network.

KNOCK WITH BOLDNESS AND EXCELLENCE

Knock and the door will be opened is the final phase of the strategy. It guides
you to excellence in self-presentation from resumes and correspondence to
telephone techniques, interviewing skills and follow up activities. Wherever you go
you will be able to let your light shine so others will see it and give glory to your
Father who is in heaven. The skills youll develop this week will build your confidence
and support you as you go out to interview. Youll review standards of professional
dress and presentation and build your skills at responding to common and tough
interview questions. Most importantly, youll practice reliance on Gods grace to carry
you through the process.

Why are you unemployed?

Guidelines:
1. Be positive. Present what is good about this transition and what
you are looking forward to.
2. Make it simple, clear and direct. Avoid jargon and fancy prose.
3. Keep it briefno more than 10 sentences. Too much explanation
and youll sound defensive.
4. Give a good reason for the change, avoid clichs. There are many
good reasons for changing positions and the truth, presented
comfortably and clearly, is the best.

Lay off (when more than one is impacted),

downsizing

Reorganization, company relocation, merger,

acquisition

Limited opportunity for growth, blocked career path, no

promotion from within

Management changes, changes in company direction or

philosophy (be prepared to explain it)

Personality conflict, unable to support management

decisions

Desire for new challenges, increased responsibility, change

in personal direction
5. Practice saying it out loud and get feedback from a trusted
professional or colleague.

TACTICS:

Objectives:

To effectively manage personal change and transition.

To build personal resilience with the Word.

Notes:

TAKE

PRAY:

Remember

Change always causes an adjustment period called transition.

Change happens suddenly but the transition is a process.

The first stage is awareness of what has been lost. The focus is on
the past. We ALWAYS begin with an Ending!

We cant skip the transition or the emotions that come with it, no
matter how often we change.

We cant ignore or suppress emotions, even if we want to!

The best strategy for transition is Connect and Communicate!

God is in the Journey. He isnt waiting for us to get to the destination

in order to rejoin us.

Finally, change is not good or bad. It is always BOTH.

And, All things work together for GOOD for those who love God and
are called according to His purpose. Romans 8:28

The Formula for Answered Prayer

(with deep gratitude to Dr. Frederick K.C. Price)
My son, give attention to my words; incline your ear to my sayings. Do not
let them depart from your eyes; keep them in the midst of your heart; for
they are life to those who find them and health (medicine) to all their flesh.
(Proverbs 4:20)
Starting Point: The Word of God is His Will. The Word of God is true, always!!!
Ask and you WILL receive; seek and you WILL find; knock and the door WILL be
opened. So, if you didnt receive, you havent asked Gods way. If you seek and
dont find, you arent seeking His way. If you knock and it doesnt open, you arent
knocking His way.
Here is the formula to use IF you want results every time.
1. Decide what you want from God and find scriptures that promise it.
You will never receive a request that is beyond the known will and character of
God.
2.

Ask God for the things that you want, then believe that you have
received them.
Meditate on the scriptures UNTIL they speak out to you, personally. (Rhema
word) Remember God is not going to your will; He is going to do His will for and
through you.

3. Let every thought, word, and desire affirm the fact that you have what
you ask.
Know that your answer already exists in the spirit realm (Kingdom of God) and is
waiting to manifest in the natural realm. See yourself with it!
4. Guard your thoughts.
Thoughts are products of observations, associations, and teaching so be careful
about who and what you allow in. (See Mark 4:14+)
5. Think constantly on the promises on which you based the answer to your
prayer.
Take some corresponding action(s).
Make plans as though it has already
happened.
6. In your waking moments, think on the Love, Goodness, Mercy, and
Blessing of God. It will boost your faith. Constantly praise God for who He is
and what He has already done!
Be anxious for nothingAnd the peace of God, which surpasses understanding,
will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus. Phil 4:6+
Use your mouth often and out loud. Hebrews 13:15+
7. Make every word related to your prayer request a statement of faith.
Line your words up. You are telling the truth in advance, based on what God
says.

Understanding the Blessing

(with deep appreciation to Kenneth Copeland)
Whats a blessing? A new car...a beautiful home...a great promotion?
What is wind? Tree branches moving...dust flying up...a kite launching?
The blessing is the cause of the good thingsits the empowerment that brings
them into being. Its the spiritual force that God was talking about when He said,
But thou shall remember the Lord thy God: for it is He that giveth thee power to get
wealth... Deut 8:18
THE Blessing Gen 1:26-30
God, with Jesus and the Holy Spirit, (Us) bestowed it on Adam
Let them have dominion
Let them be in our image and likeness*
Let them be fruitful and multiply
Let them fill and subdue the earth
* Image=semblance, appearance
Likeness=same attributes, personality
Adam and Eve had THE Blessing and lost it!
God took it back and bestowed it upon Noah and his sons, Abraham and his
descendants, and the house of Israel. BUT they never possessed it; they lived under
Gods blessing and accessed it by faith.
On earth Jesus walked under the Jewish covenant and then he died.
When God raised Jesus from the dead, Jesus became the very first born
again man and the very first man since Adam to possess THE blessing.
This blessing is a spiritual empowerment that can only reside in a spirit man.
When we are born again, we receive a spirit man AND the blessing!!
Want proof of what you really have???
Ephesians 2:5-7
made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in
transgressionsit is by grace you have been saved. And God raised us up with Christ
and seated us with him in the heavenly realms in Christ Jesus, in order that in the
coming ages he might show the incomparable riches of his grace, expressed in his
kindness to us in Christ Jesus.
Ephesians 1: 18-23 I pray also that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in
order that you may know the hope to which he has called you, the riches of his
glorious inheritance in the saints, and his incomparably great power for us who
believe. That power is like the working of his mighty strength, which he exerted in
Christ when he raised him from the dead and seated him at his right hand in the
heavenly realms, far above all rule and authority, power and dominion, and every
title that can be given, not only in the present age but also in the one to come. And
God placed all things under his feet and appointed him to be head over everything
for the church, which is his body, the fullness of him who fills everything in every
way.
That blessing is nothing less than the divine empowerment to re-create the
conditions of the Garden of Eden wherever we go! Kenneth Copeland

STRATEGY:

Objectives:

To understand the importance of the Holy Spirit.

To receive the Baptism of the Spirit and release the HS to

work freely in us.

Notes:

YOUR TURN:

1. Do you believe that God can help you find a job? That He
knows where your next job is? That He has one picked out for
you?
2. How will you find unadvertised positions? How will you meet
employers with openings?
3. Have you ever been led by the Spirit? When and how did you
know the Spirit was leading you? How did it turn out?

8 CHOOSE YOUR TRAINING

TACTICS:

Objectives:

To understand the importance of time management in the job

search.

To organize your time of unemployment for maximum results.

Notes:
Never, never, never turn the TV on in the day!
TAKE
ACTION:

Set up your work area(Pre-Search)

Connect an answering machine to your home telephone. You do

not want to miss any calls. Use an adult voice to record the message
and make it clear, brief and professional sounding. (Avoid humor,
sound effects, musical interludes, or cute messages from children).

Consider adding the call waiting feature or a second line to your

home phone, especially if you share the phone with family members or
roommates.

Decide on a filing system that will keep important information at

your fingertips. Some of the most popular ideas are color-coded file
folders, 3x5 note cards, commercially available computer software
programs and electronic organizers. You will also need a calendar or
date book for recording appointments and a tickler file to prompt you
on follow-up activities.

Set up tracking process to organize and monitor the progress of

your campaign. Try to set up a system that is similar to what you are
accustomed to using. It should feel comfortable and appropriate for
your style of work.
Every Week

Spend a day writing the cover letters that go with any interesting ads
you collected from the prior three or 4 weeks papers.

Spend a day sending your resume to the recruiters and agencies you
have selected. Use the same letter for all the recruiters.

Spend a morning adding to the personal contact list you started earlier
in this chapter. Go through neighbors, holiday card lists, business
cards, vendor lists and search your memory for former managers, coworkers, and professional association colleagues.
Every Day:
1 hour in prayer and study of the Word.
1 hour of physical activity and healthy eating
3 -5 hours on job search activities and
2 hours on your personal project work (until its completed)
1 hour every day to give away to someone as a blessing.
(Do all of this and youll still put in 15 hours on your job search,
which is substantially more than most job seekers do!)

Tips on Answering Ads

If you choose to follow the more traditional approach:

Read the classifieds (all of them), highlight ads of interest, cut out
those to which you will respond.

Write a simple, brief cover letter and enclose it with your resume. Use
the same format for every cover letter top save time.

Use the words used in the ad in your letter. If the ad lists

requirements, use a two-column format for your letter. Your
Requirements and My Experience

If salary history is requested, a simple statement that Salary

information will be provided at time of interview will provably work.
You want the chance to sell them on you before they are put off by
price either too high or too low.

Limit the time you spend answering ads to one morning per week.

Weapons of War
We have been given EVERYTHING we need to be victorious. The Word promises
that They overcame him (the accuser of the brethren) by the blood of the Lamb
and by the word of their testimony. Revelations 12:11 So it is for us. We are
fully protected and equipped to win this battle, but we must KNOW what weve
been given and how to use it.
Our Weapons
1. Perfect Love who is God (1 John 4:18; 2 Corinthians 6:6-8; Psalm
91:9)
2. The Holy Spirit and power (Titus 3:5)
3. The Word (Joshua 1:8-9)
4. The name of Jesus Christ (Philippians 2:9-10)
5. Praise and Thanksgiving (Psalm 103:1 and Isaiah 26:3)
6. Your tongue and your prayers (James 5:16; Revelations 12:11)
7. Covenant --tithe of time or money first fruits (Malachi 3:10)
8. Sabbath rest
9. Angels (Psalm 91:11-12)
Enemy Tactics
1. Fear, anxiety, panic, or terror (spirits)
2. Guilt and condemnation
3. Isolation with shame or pride (spirits)

You were wronged by your past employer. They should not be

allowed to get away with that. What kind of man would just roll
over for that kind of unfair treatment? You should sue.
No one is going to hire you without that degree. You knew it was
going to get you eventually.
Youre too old, too fat, too unattractive, The fact that you ever got
hired anywhere was a fluke and it wont happen again.
You deserved to be fired. You made an unforgivable mistake and
no one will ever hire you again because of it. But thats okay
because you deserve to be punished.
You know you are worthless and will never amount to anything.
Theres no way you will ever be able to provide for your family.
They will all be ruined because youre such a failure.
Its fine and good to believe that stuff about My God shall supply
all your needs but youve gat a rent payment that needs to be
made TOMORROW and you dont have it!)

CAR Stories
The best indicator of future behavior is past behavior. So, if you want
the interviewer to KNOW that you can do what you claim, you need to let
him/her see when youve done that skill or demonstrated that attribute in
the past. Your goal is to create a little movie in your mind and then play it
back for the interviewer. For each story tell the:
Conditions you faced, Actions you took and Result you achieved.
Method One: Pick a favorite accomplishment from school or work and tell
the story. Then determine what that story proves about you and use that
story whenever the interviewer asks about those skills or attributes.
Method Two:
Look at the skills and attributes you identified in the
assessments. Identify those attributes most likely to be of interest to the
interviewer based upon the open position. Write a CAR story for each of
those attributes.

CONTACT NUMBER

Clarion Consulting Group, Inc.

Page 60

Employed for Life Ministry: 30 Day Launch Program

Breakthrough Tips
Identify the Right Name
Before you can make a contact, you need to know the name of the person
you are calling.
1) Call the main phone number and ask the receptionist for the name of the
executive of the function you are targeting. "Could you please tell me the
name of the Vice President of R&D?" Ask the person to spell the name and
give you the correct title.
2) If the central receptionist is unwilling to give you this information, ask to
be transferred to the secretary of that department's vice president.
3) If you hit another brick wall with the secretary, call back one more time
and ask for Accounts Payable or Billing. When they answer, explain that
you were trying to reach the "Director ___." Ask if they could give you a
name and extension to prevent any further confusion and misplaced calls
like this one!
4) Whenever you are given a name and title, ask the operator or company
representative to confirm it. "I have some correspondence for Fred
Ramirez. Is he still the Vice President of Nursing?" Confirm spelling, title,
and address.
5) If the name you have, or the one you receive from the receptionist, is
initials, an unfamiliar name or is a unisex first name, ask "Is this a man or
woman?"
Get to the Right Person
If you find yourself getting stonewalled by receptionists review these tips.
1) Use a tone of voice that sounds professional and encourages help. Dont
sound demanding.
2) Be brief. Be patient. Other calls may interrupt your attempt to get exact
information.
3) Be courteous. Thank the receptionist for the information.
4) Get the name of every secretary and telephone answerer. It is much more
cordial and effective to address someone by name, especially when calling
repeatedly.
5) Ask for the targeted individual by name. "Is (first name) in today?" is a
good way to determine whether to call back or delay calling for another
day.
Make
When
trying
1)

the Secretary Your Liaison

the secretary appears to be running interference for the person you are
to reach, the following ideas will be useful.
Have a bridge to the decision-maker. "This is Sara Chang. Is Steve
available? Joe Washington asked me to call him."
2) Establish a relationship with the secretary and ask for help.
3) Call at off hours (such as early morning, during the secretary's lunch
break, or after hours) when the targeted individual may pick up the phone
personally.
4) Leave a message if you can't get past the secretary. Do so more than four
times since most callers seem to quit after three attempts

Technology Power
VOICE MAILDont be discouraged if you are greeted by voicemail.
This is an opportunity to sound upbeat and charming and to politely
demonstrate persistence.
Have a script already written out with an appropriate voice mail message
before you make the call.
Vary the times when you callearly morning, just before lunch, 6 pm
Be brief and to the point.
Pronounce your name clearly, perhaps even spelling it if it is difficult to
understand. Give your phone number slowly.
Give a specific window of availability to receive the return call. ("I'll be at this
number between 2:00 - 5:00 pm this afternoon.")
If there's no return call, you can call again to repeat the process. Call more
than 5 times! Most people quit after three. Persistence will pay off.
EMAIL
Dont send broadcast, impersonal emails. Always send to one person at a
time and address that person by name.
When using someone as a referral, be sure to copy him/her on your email.
It alerts the referring party that the contact has been made and lets the
recipient know that the referral was real.
Send resumes and references in attachments, not in the body of the email
JOB BOARDS/RESUME POSTING
Create a scannable resume that has no fancy fonts, underlining, clever
graphics, or other elements that wont transmit well.
Post a scannable version of your resume on the major job boards. Just dont
put all your eggs in this basket if you want a really good job.
Expect telephone calls and screening interviews at all times. (Weekends and
evenings especially!) Be sure your telephone answering message, and those
answering the phone, represent you well.
Use cut and paste features and a master document when completing online
applications, to avoid typing everything from scratch.
Guard your time when applying since this is a real long shot for most job
applicants. Only invest time if you match position requirements very closely.
Modify your resume to use the exact terms in the job posting.

What was I thinking?

For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war according to the flesh. For the
weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down
strongholds, casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself
against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the
obedience of Christ, 2 Corinthians 10:3-5, NKJV
The world is unprincipled. It's dog-eat-dog out there! The world doesn't fight fair.
But we don't live or fight our battles that waynever have and never will. The
tools of our trade aren't for marketing or manipulation, but they are for
demolishing that entire massively corrupt culture. We use our powerful Godtools for smashing warped philosophies, tearing down barriers erected against
the truth of God, fitting every loose thought and emotion and impulse into the
structure of life shaped by Christ. Our tools are ready at hand for clearing the
ground of every obstruction and building lives of obedience into maturity.
2 Corinthians 10:3-6, MSG
Why are we concerned with bringing every thought into captivity or
smashing warped philosophies, tearing down barriers against the Word
of God, fitting every loose thought and emotion and impulse into a life
shaped by Christ?
WordsThinkingEmotionsDecisionsActionsHabitsCharacterand
that brings you to the Destination!

Emotions fuel our behaviors and, left to themselves, always lead us into sin and
away from God. Why? They are a part of mans soul and not automatically
transformed by Christ. Where do emotions come from? Our thinking, also a part
of the soul self.
We get angry in our minds before anger comes. We are depressed in our minds
before depression settles in. Once the emotion arrives, a bad decision is soon
to follow.
Where do our thoughts come from?
Observations-What are we giving our attention to?
Associations-Who or what are we spending our time with?
Teaching-What have we been taught by others?
How do we bring a wrong thought into captivity?
God.

With the spoken Word of

Isaiah 55:8-10 For My thoughts are not your thoughts, Nor are your ways My
ways, says the LORD. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are My
ways higher than your ways, And My thoughts than your thoughts. For as the
rain comes down, and the snow from heaven, And do not return there, But

Overcoming Objections
Most people have too much to do and too little time to do it. So realize
that the objections you will likely encounter are not personal. They are a by
product of schedules that are hectic and the effort of busy decision makers to
protect their valuable time. Do not be offended or immobilized by objections,
rise to the challenge and overcome them.
Objection:

We don't have any openings.

Response:

"I realize that. Right now I'm only looking for information
and I understand that you are a great resource for
information about the Industry."

I'm too busy right now.

"When could I call you back? Could we schedule a time to
meet? How about a phone appointment?"

"I realize your time Is limited. Would you have five or ten
minutes right now to answer a few questions?"

field of ___?

"I appreciate the referral. May I use your name?"

I'm tied up on a project for the

next few weeks.

"Could you check your calendar for three weeks from

today so we can schedule something or should I call back
then?
"May I buy you a 15-minute cup of coffee before work
one morning next week?"

My workdays are already packed.

Send me a resume.

"Thank you. I will do that, but I would also like to meet

with you at your convenience. Would you have some
time next week?"

Send your resume to Human

Resources.

"Is there a specific job opening In your company that you

have in mind? Who is the hiring manager for that

Cashing In
Proverbs 26:2 ...the curse causeless cannot come.
There is always a reason why a believer who has been given THE BLESSING fails
to see it manifest in his/her life. The reason is never God. It is also not
something to blame entirely on the devil. We have the opportunity to make a
demand on our Blessing account and take out a withdrawal AND we have the
ability to block ourselves from cashing in!

Withdrawing the Blessing

OBEDIENCE
If you obey my commandmentsto Lovethen
are you my disciples.--Christ

Blocking the Blessing

FAITHFULNESS
Trustworthy, strict and thorough in the
performance of duty, dependable...
Laboring in the Word, laboring in holiness,
laboring in love and service...fulfilling the
Kingdom purposes.
How faithful are you with what youve already
been given? Spouse, family, friends, work,
church...Can God trust you?
PURE HEART
Blessed are the pure in heart for they shall see
God. Do you want to see God in your finances,
your work, your health, your relationships?
MOTIVE=the need, desire, fear or reason that
prompts action. It is ALL that matters to God.
He looks upon the heart of the matter.
What matters is integrity in our hearts. Satan
wants to defile the heart with unbelief. We are
called to guard it and stand in faith on the Word.
TITHE
Malachi 3:8 You bring the tithe and God opens
the heavens to pour out BLESSING...in the form
of incorruptible Word seed.
Then the Kingdom process has to take place.
We SOW the seed, on good ground, with our
mouth in confessions, God causes the seed to
grow we know not how, we guard the seed (our
hearts) with all diligence and the harvest comes!

Copyright: Barb Rarden, 2009

DISOBEDIENCE
Partial and delayed obedience=
Disobedience
Offense and Unforgiveness
Sin
Selfishness
UNFAITHFULNESS
Laboring to be richProverbs 23:4,
20:21,13:11,and 28:20
Do you claim to believe but labor in
priorities that have nothing to do with the
Kingdom? How consistent and faithful are
you to love, pray, act on the Word...?

NOT A PURE HEART

Acting Loving is not love.
Manipulation, avoiding confrontation,
gaining approval or acceptance, looking
godly, personal gain might look like love but
the motive is Selfishness.

NO TITHE EXCHANGE
You say you trust but you wont put your
