2016 scholarship ANNOUNCEMENTS: Byon M. MORRIS, Dorothea B. SHAW, SAMUEL L. AND LYDIA M. PAYNE. Awards will support tuition, books, fees, room and board, and degree related expenses. All applicants must have at least a 3. Grade point average (weighted)
The Byon M. Morris Scholarship in the amount of $5,000 ($1250 per year/4 years) to support tuition, books, fees, room and board, and degree related expenses for a graduating senior who has achieved the Eagle Scout rank in Boy Scouting or the Gold Award in Girl Scouting and demonstrates an aptitude and desire to succeed. In selecting the successful candidate, the review committee will consider academic achievements, leadership experience, desire for personal growth and financial need. All applicants must have at least a cumulative 3.0 grade point average (weighted) and plan to attend an accredited postsecondary institution on a full time basis. Morris Scholarship application and supporting documentation requirements are available at: http://bit.ly/tcfscholarship and due by May 13, 2016. DOROTHEA B. SHAW SCHOLARSHIP The Dorothea B. Shaw Scholarship in the amount of $6,000 ($1500 per year/4 years) to support tuition, books, fees, room and board, and degree related expenses for a student graduating from a Duval county public or private school and attending an accredited post-secondary institution in the Northeastern United States. Northeastern states are identified as: CT, MA, ME, NH, NJ, NY, PA, RI, and VT. In selecting the successful candidate, the review committee will consider academic achievements, leadership experience, desire for personal growth and financial need. All applicants must have at least a cumulative 3.0 grade point average (weighted) and plan to attend on a full-time basis. Housed at The Community Foundation for Northeast Florida, the Dorothea B. PAYNE SCHOLARSHIP To provide financial assistance to a student(s) who demonstrates an aptitude and desire to succeed. The scholarship will support tuition, books, fees, room and board, and educational degree related expenses up to $18,000 and disbursed until graduation or a period up to 5 years, provided the recipient continues to meet the eligibility requirements. All applicants must have a cumulative 2.5-3.5 (weighted) grade point average and plan to take a fulltime course load in pursuit of a bachelors degree. In selecting the successful candidate, the review committee will consider a desire for personal growth and financial need.
