explain the scope & lifetime of each one.. (Auto,Static,Register,Extern,and
also mutable(only used for classes) )
3)

Right shift/Left shift + 1's complement concepts then asked me to give

the output of this:i = 10;

int j = i >> 10;
cout<<j;

4)

Then, difference b/w

char *str = "Hello";
char arr[] = "Hello";
he started asking whether following statements get complied or not;
arr++; // ERROR..its like a pointer constant
*(arr + 1) = 's';
cout<<arr; // o/p: Hsllo
and other questions which i dont remember

date1.month = 12;
now how will you initialize date2 (without member by member

assignment)
ans: date2 = date1;

7)

What happens when you run a programme.. he meant what all the basic

steps that O/S

would take??
8)

Virtual functions/ Abstract classes/ Pointer functions

9)

Asked me to write a recurssive factorial prog.

10)

Then he gave me a prob. of inheritance. Asked me how u would invoke

a base class member function using derived class pointer( that func is not a
virtual func. && no virtual Base class inheritance) And some other Q's which i
dont remember now...

1. These questions involve interchange of letters in a word at particular locations
and also interchanging letters adjacent to those particular locations.Certain other
conditions may also be given
For eg.
Let the word be ABBAABA
If we apply 25 on this, it means we have to interchange the letters at positions 2
and 5, also we have to change the letters adjacent to positions 2 and 5 i.e.from A
to B and B to A.
A B B A A B after Step 1 i.e interchange of 2 and 5 becomes AABABB
Now change adjacent elements of 2 and 5...finally answer becomes
Ans: B A A B B A
Questions 1-5 are based on the pattern with changed numbers as described

Q1. U have to write the function for matrix addition using link list.It is called "sparse matrix" .The
structure for the element is as follows.
Typedef struct element{
Int row;
Int column;
Int value;
Element * next;
}element,sparsematrin*;
If value contains zero then there should not be node assign for that.U have to also check boundary
condition in your program.
Function is:
SparseMatrix SmAdd(SaprseMatrix m1,SparseMatrix m2)
( Revised concept of linked list and have a look at coding.....)

Q2.Problem:-

One boy has to climb steps. He can climb 1 or 2 steps at a time. Write a function that will returns
number of way a boy can climb the steps. Int WaytoSteps(int n)

The sections are -1. C Programming( in which some C Qns are there)
2. Theory ( Qns from Compiler toc etc.)
3. General( Qns from probability etc.)
4. OS(Qns from OS, like 5 processes are given with their burst &
some scheduling policy is also given, now find out when process P is
completed)
5. Database ( Qns from Normalisation, Transactions etc)
6. Data Structures
Qns are pretty simple. one Knowing only the basics can be able to
clear the exam. Just go through C language part in some detail.
Test 2--- Consist of only 1 Qn for program. In this we have to make
a C program.
Qn is that there is a binary tree , a node having three pointers -Left child, right child, parent. Now the problem is to delete the
tree in top-down fashion ie First delete parent & then child.
In previous paper, the Qn ask in this section is that--To take a string from the User & then arrange the characters in
that string in ascending order like if user enters "babcac" the
program should print it as "aabbcc"
The test is very simple just go thru the basics of OS, DBMS & data
structures. & concentrate over C programming. It is very essential

Persistent Sample Test Paper.
