SUPERACRYL PLUS

Heat-curing denture base acrylic resin

Manufacturer:
SpofaDental a.s., Markova 238, CZ-506 46 Jin, www.spofadental.com
Composition:
powder: polymethylmethacrylate, zinc oxide, pigments
liquid: methylmethacrylate, glycoldimethacrylate
Characteristics:
A modern variant of the methacrylate basal resin. It is a methylmethacrylate polymer in powder form and netlike methylmethacrylate as a liquid. SUPERACRYL PLUS is supplied in six shades O (colourless), U, V, Z,
X (with fibres) and Y.
Indications:
Bases of complete removable dentures.
Bases of partial removable dentures.
Manufacturing of orthodontic appliances.
Indirect rebasing of removable dentures.
Contraindications:
Not described.
Adverse reaction:
Potential methylcrylate sensitivity, especially at the allergic people.
Properties:
The shortened time of polymer dissolution.
The prolonged interval of the dought plasticity.
The high bending strenght.
The low water solubility and absorbability.
Easy to handle and polish.
Cadmium free.
Different types of polymerization.
Conforms to ISO 1567:2000.
Processing:
The preparation of dough:
The recommended mixing ratio is 22 g powder and 10 ml liquid, what represents in the volume ratio the value of
about 3:1. The mixed material is left in the closed vessel about 12 - 16 minutes at the temperature of 23 C. The
paste is ready for further process at the moment when it stops to be sticky. The plasticity interval is about 10
minutes at the temperature of 23 C.
Maturing time: 12 16 min
The plasticity interval: 10 min
Total working time: 25min
Further on, it is proceeded by using the classic flasking in a plaster mould, and/or the modelling dought is
processed by means of the so-called "free hand" (at the partially removable substitutions) with the following
polymerization in the pressure polymerization apparatus.

Polymerization methods:
1) Standard polymerization:
Immerse the flask into the cold water.
Temper up to 70C within 30 minutes.
Keep the temperature during the next 30 minutes.
Increase the temperature on 100C within 30 minutes.
Keep the temperature for the further 30 minutes.
The total polymerization time is 2 hours.
2) Faster polymerization:
Insert the flask into the cold water.
Temper up to 100C.
Keep the temperature for the next 45 minutes.
3) Fast-boiling polymerization:
Insert the flask into the boiling water (100C).
Keep the temperature for 40 minutes.
This polymerization method is suitable only for partial substitutions max. up to four teeth.
4) Polymerization in a pressure polymerizing apparatus:
Polymerization without flasking, immediately on the model
pressure 0,6 MPa
temperature 100 - 110C
time 10 - 15 minutes
This polymerization method is suitable only for smaller partial dentures and for repairs of dentures.
Safety precautions:
SUPERACRYL PLUS is a highly flammable liquid. The liquid irritates the eyes, respiratory system and skin,
and may cause sensitisation upon contact with the skin. In case of accidental contact wash the skin with water
and soap. After contact with eyes, rinse immediately with plenty of water and seek medical advice.
Waste material disposal:
Dispose of unused powder and its packaging with ordinary worksite waste. Residues of unused liquid should be
transferred to a company authorized to dispose of waste materials or dispose of it in an incineration plant for
dangerous waste. Do not pour the liquid into the public sewage system.
Storage:
Store in a dry and dark place at 5 C to 25 C, in a well sealed container. Store the package in a well ventilated
area, away from heat sources. Smoking is prohibited.
Shelf-life:
4 years
