Inductive approach can used in order to gather data from customers and identify their
individual perspectives. For banks, similar to many other organizations, customers play a
major role in defining the quality standards in services offered as they are the most affected
part by the service quality offered by banks. Quality is a subjective attribute and different
customers would have different perceptions about the service quality. Therefore in order to
understand these different perspectives of different individuals an inductive approach would
be best suited for this project.
3.3 Methodologies
3.3.1 Development methodology
Rational Unified Process (RUP) was selected as the development methodology for Ebanking. RUP covers entirety the project and identifies the nature of the project phases
overlap with the activities involved. Rational Modified Process is designed together with UML
and supports Object Orientation.
3.3.2 Research methodology
Qualitative data, It is used to gain an understanding of underlying reasons, opinions, and
motivations. It provides insights into the problem or helps to develop ideas or hypotheses for
potential quantitative research. Qualitative Research is also used to uncover trends in
thought and opinions, and dive deeper into the problem.
Quantitative Research is used to quantify the problem by way of generating numerical data
or data that can be transformed into useable statistics. It is used to quantify attitudes,
opinions, behaviours, and other defined variables and generalize results from a larger
sample population. Quantitative Research uses measurable data to formulate facts and
uncover patterns in research. Quantitative data collection methods are much more
structured than Qualitative data collection methods.
3.4 Techniques
There are three main techniques that we planned to complete the project very successfully.
The techniques are illustrated in Figure 3.1.

Gantt charts are the visible representation of the project
timeline. Gantt chart used to measure the projects
adherence to schedule. Also the Gant chart assists to the
