MAP #1

Physical

Level of Independence

Social relationship

Environment

Spirituality/Religion/ Personal Beliefs

The Quality of Lite (QoL) within each city of the province as been defined in terms of six
main aspects namely; physical, psychological, level of independence, social
relationship, healthiness of the environment and the spirituality in terms of religion and
personal beliefs.
The column charts representing different quality aspects, have been embedded within
the same, providing useful information to the user, where the map provides at a glance,
the overall idea as to which cities perform the best and in which aspect.
For example, the cities 1,4 and 11 are relatively rich physically, psychologically and in
social relationships. And almost all the cities are poor in terms of maintaining a healthy
environment. Further, city 12 is very poor in almost all the aspects.

MAP #2
Based on the survey results, the highest score for the Psychology was recorded for the
city of Markaz Manfalout. However, the Inverse distance weighted interpolation
technique in ArcGIS was used in interpolating the numbers into a raster map which has
been presented here as Map 2. The results seem not to be much accurate where the

highest score for the Psychology is shown for the Assiut City, which cannot be
considered as accurate with reference to the survey results by which the maps were
derived.
Furthermore, based on the derived the level of psychology varies within the city itself,
which is questionable, provided the data used for the calculation. Such data is most
likely to derive inaccurate information through such analysis by producing random
figures. Such interpolation may require more accurate and extensive data sets as the
input.

MAP #3 / MAP #4
Inverse Distance Weighted interpolation has been applied to the survey results with
regard to the measured social relationships within the cities (MAP 3) and the
Environment healthiness (Map 4). Resultant maps indicate the Assuit City to be the area
with the best social relationships and the environment. However, based on the survey
results it was Markaz Al Quseya, the city having the best score with regard to the both
aspects in question.

MAP #5
Map 5 is a presentation as to how the level of physical domain varies between different
cities. In other words, the map is aimed at demonstrating how volatile the quality of life
among different regions in terms of physical aspects.
The standard deviation of the physical domain would be an indicator of the rate of
change experienced within each region with regard to the physical aspects.
Based on the resultant map, the highest standard deviation or the highest volatility has
been recorded in the province Markaz Sedfa with regard to the physical aspects of the

quality of life.

MAP #6
The figure provides a comparison of the resultant maps derived using four main
interpolation techniques namely; IDW, Krigging, Natural neighbor and Triangulation with
smoothing.
The resultant maps are similar for all other interpolation techniques expect IDW. The
most similar results are generated with the two techniques; Natural neighbor and
Triangulation.

MAP #7
Environment

Spirituality/Religion/ Personal Beliefs

Map 7 is merely a presentation of an overall comparison between the two domains

namely; Environment healthiness and the Spirituality in terms of Religion and the
personal beliefs within each city.
Compared to Map1, this map is aimed at providing the same information, but having
narrowed down the focal point at the two aspects; Environment and the Spirituality.
The embedded column charts indicate Markaz Al Quseya to be the province with
highest scores for both the aspects and Assiut city and the Markaz Sedfa to follow
respectively.
