This Installation Manual describes a Step-By-Step procedure to installing the Haldex TRS (Trailer Roll Stability)
for trailers. The Haldex TRS Quick Supplement Guide is for Air Spring Suspension Systems and can be used on
either Drum or Disc Brakes, 2S/2M or 4S/2M.

Safety First !
Please follow your companys safety procedures when you install this equipment. Be sure that you
understand all instructions before you begin.
Note: Remove all air pressure and electrical power from the brake system before beginning work.

TRAILER ROLL STABILITY SYSTEM


This booklet illustrates Haldexs commitment to produce products that deliver quality, durability
and longevity to the end user. In our continuing effort Haldex works closely with our manufacturing
partners and it is our goal to assist with the standardization of installation procedures to ensure
optimum performance to each of our core products.
The quick supplement guide can be used to train new personal. It provides
a quick and easy reference for everyone associated with the installation of Haldex components.
Picture and Illustrations provide information at a glance while detailed text information
needs to be reviewed from the Installation/Service Manual L30040.
The following guide is specific for a standard closed tandem axle or tri-axle 4S/2M application only!
Any deviation must be authorized by Haldex Engineering thirty days prior to initial pilot build date.
Operation Environment Required:
- Either paint the chassis before installing the TRS assembly or mask entire TRS assembly
thoroughly.
- Locate valve assembly to protect against road spray/debris for example; (behind air reservoir)
- Do Not apply cleaning acids to the TRS valve assembly.
Painting Recommendations:
- Use water based paint
- Baking should not exceed (1) hour at 212 degrees F.

Step 1:

Mounting Plate Location

The TRS Valve and ECU preferred location is: Centered between axles,
centered between frame rails and as close to the trailer floor as possible.
To protect against road debris and road spray.

IMPORTANT NOTICE
Ensure that the mounting plate is mounted between (2) cross members of the trailer. The thickness of the
mounting plate should be no less than 5/16 inch thickness. Plate material needs to be rigid.

Step 3:

Securing the Haldex TRS Valve

Drill (8) holes into Mounting


Plate and (4) holes into Cross
Members using a 3/8 drill bit.

Using bolts, flat washers, and locking nuts mount


the Haldex TRS to the mounting bracket.
(4) Lock Nut - 5/16

Use Rust Resistant


bolts, flat washers & nuts
(SAE Grade 5 or Better)

Hand start the valve nipple into reservoir port and then tighten to proper orientation as show above with wrench
on metal hex only. Torque to 45 - 50 ft. lbs. For more detailed information reference L31225

tie straps, doing so could cause Signal Noise Interference.
If tie straps are required DO NOT over tighten. Over tightening could
cause breakage of the wires.

Cut off tab for the correct


sensor identification.
To remove any plugs or sensors
push in tab and pull out

NOTE: Apply dielectric grease on all

NOTE: Push sensor in firmly until seated into socket.
Gently pull on sensor cable to make sure it
is locked into the socket.
