WEDNESDAYREVIVAL PRAYING
Chronological Bible Reading: 1 Chronicles 13-15; John 5:24-47

Eph. 1:4 According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world,
that we should be holy and without blame before him in love:
John 16:28 I came forth from the Father, and am come into the world: again, I leave
the world, and go to the Father.
Rev. 21:7 He that overcometh shall inherit all things; and I will be his God, and he
shall be my son.
My Heavenly Healer:
You loved me, in Christ, before the worlds foundation was laid, and your
death on the cross took away the barriers in the way of that love. You wanted, as
God of love, to show love to me. You can now, as God of justice, love me to
the fullest degree. That is how you bless poor sinners who turn to you in faith.
In this, you yourself are glorified. It is at that spot, up there on the cross,
where you wrought your finished work that saved me, that the Father gives the
most honor to the Son. You had honor as God, but as man you were despised and
rejected. Now as both God and man,
Heb. 10:12 But this man, after he had offered one sacrifice for sins for ever, sat down
on the right hand of God;
Heb. 2:9 But we see Jesus, who was made a little lower than the angels for the suffering
of death, crowned with glory and honour; that he by the grace of God should taste death for every
man.
Tis by the merit of His death who hung upon the tree,
The Spirit is sent down to breathe on such dry bones as we.
Christ long promised the presence of the Holy Spirit. Now he is able to
perceive a new and living way by which he can come and dwell in my heart. Prior
to the cross, saints were saved on credit. They got the Spirit of God to come
upon them, or even in them, but not permanently dwell with them. But now,
because of the merit won by your death, Jesus, the Holy Spirit can make me holy.
He is not turned-off by my unholiness. Thank you Lord, for this new way to
godliness by the cross. Show it also to __________ and __________. Amen.
Jesus:
Teach me, by looking at you on the cross, to simply do what Jesus did.
You rested in God in all times of danger and pain. If the doctor says I
have to go under the scalpel I should say, Father, into thy hands I commend my spirit.
Fretting will not help, and fear will not hurt me. Only doing what Jesus did.
You had brave confidence in the face of death. In that moment of death
I will understand more than I will ever learn on earth, and see in an instant more
than I could hope to see if I lived for a century. I have no wish, no will, and no
word, but to hand my heart over to the Keeper, just like Jesus did.
You had complete submission in every circumstance. If I get into the
hands of God, everything else is at rest. Home and happiness are there. I move
out of the nothingness of the creature, and into the all-sufficiency of Christ.
You said, It is finished. I am not finished, but you are! So the only thing I
have left to do is to work out in my life your finished work. All I have to do is
show others, out of my life, what you already completed. They see it by my
reaction to every reality and any eventuality. And because It is finished, I will return
to you. So my life henceforth is in you. My joy is in you. To die is to be in you.
I will not worship afar off. I can come close in childlike confidence. I
recognize your greatness even as I speak with you as a child to its Father. The
cross has accomplished my access. The door is open and entrance is free. I can be
in your presence at any moment by prayer. This is what Jesus did. He prayed at
all times so he could see God in every thing. Help me, Holy Spirit, do what
Jesus did today, for I ask this in his precious name. Amen.
Phil. 3:14 I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ
Jesus.
BLEST is the man who shuns the place where sinners love to meet;
Who fears to tread their wicked ways, and hates the scoffers seat:
But in the statutes of the Lord has placed his chief delight;
By day he reads or hears the word, and meditates by night.
He, like a plant of genrous kind, by living waters set,
Safe from the storms and blasting wind, enjoys a peaceful state.
Green as the leaf, and ever fair, shall his profession shine
While fruits of holiness appear like clusters on the vine.
Not so the impious and unjust; what vain designs they form!
Their hopes are blown away like dust, or chaff before the storm.
Sinners in judgment shall not stand amongst the sons of grace,
When Christ, the Judge, at his right hand appoints his saints a place.
His eye beholds the path they tread, His heart approves it well
But crooked ways of sinners lead down to the gates of hell.
Psalm 1, Isaac Watts
Psa. 119:17 Deal bountifully with thy servant, that I may live, and keep thy word.
My Holy Master:
We recognizewhat we get out of life is directly related to our love for
you and your word. But learning the Bible does not come naturally to us. Give
us grace to be disciplined as we are discipled. Make us into servants, because
when we approach the scriptures with pride we will not see their depths. Help us
move over to the other side of this divine two-way mirror, and see the
circumstances of our lives from your same perspective. The only way for us to
understand is ifHoly Spirit!you are our Teacher.
Psa. 119:18 Open thou mine eyes, that I may behold wondrous things out of thy law.
We dont want to see just anything. We want to see the wondrous things! Since
we are no longer blind we do not want to go through life with our eyes
closed because of having a shut Bible. Give us the fruit that comes from an
open Book, allowing the word of God to do the work!
Psa. 119:19 I am a stranger in the earth: hide not thy commandments from me.
To be seers we have to be seekers. We get truth out of the Bible according
to the attitude we bring to it. Help us be a stranger in the earth, having renounced
the things of this world, and recognized a new world is coming. If we renounce
our rights to things down here, then we have eliminated all reason for you to hide
the truth you reserve for us. Help us today establish our hearts so firmly in
heaven, nothing on earth can pull us away. And we dont want this to be just
pious talk, but a genuine walk. That is why we say,
Psa. 119:20 My soul breaketh for the longing that it hath unto thy judgments at all
times.
We break it today, as Mary did her alabaster box, just for you Jesus. Amen.
Psa. 12:1 Help, LORD; for the godly man ceaseth; for the faithful fail from among the
children of men.
LORD and Life-Giver:
What a short, sweet, suggestive and really useful prayer this is: Help! Its
kind of an angels sword I can turn every way, and use in every circumstance. I
see the extreme danger of my position, and look to my Divine Helper today.
What a useful cry! Just like smaller planes land at airports larger jets cannot
enter, so my concise cries to you, and short supplications throughout the day can
trade with heaven when my soul is too airsick and business-sick for longer
sessions. Sometimes the Jetstream of grace seems too slow to fly a larger prayer.
Make me bold by the power of this petition to meet the evils of the day with holy
resolution, and to hope-fully pray.
My mere oppression, however silently I bear it, is in itself a cry to you!
Moses was heard at the Red Sea when he said nothing except, Stand still. Hagars
affliction was heard despite her quietness. Jesus, Word of God, feel with me, and
make my pains a mighty oration to you! My extremity is your opportunity. My
inflammation of heart needs your attention.
Psa. 12:6 The words of the LORD are pure words: as silver tried in a furnace of
earth, purified seven times.
What a contrast between the words of vain men and the pure word of God!
Your word to me has passed through fiery persecution (by textual criticism, by
philosophic doubt, and by scientific disdain). Should not my words to you pass
through the furnace of affliction as well?
Make me Godlike in communication by making me godly in
communion. For this I ask in Jesus holy name. Amen.

HARVEST BAPTIST CHURCH PRAYER DIARY SUNDAY MORNING SERVICE TIMES 8:00, 9:00 & 11:00A.M.
1)
PRAYER DIARY
TIMEWORSHIP
Mark 1:35 And in the morning, rising up a great while before day, he went out, and
departed into a solitary place, and there prayed.
GIVE GOD THE FIRST PART OF EVERY DAY. The first commitment is
to a daily quiet time with God. Our weekly Prayer Diary provides a template for daily
devotions.
2)
TITHEWORK
1 Cor 16:2 Upon the first day of the week let every one of you lay by him in store, as God
hath prospered him, that there be no gatherings when I come.
GIVE GOD THE FIRST DIME OF EVERY DOLLARno questions
asked. Ten percent is a miniscule amount in our affluent society, but it must come
off the top in order to show that God is our priority. We want the blessing of the
firstfruits (first devotion, first dime and first day) to flow out to the rest of our
resources.
3)
TEAMWORD
Heb 10:25 Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is;
but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.
GIVE GOD THE FIRST DAY OF EVERY WEEK. You should fellowship
with a group of believers around the word of God every Sunday in our church.
INSTRUCTIONS:
Baptists tend to ridicule liturgical churches that use "prepared prayers" because
they lack spontaneity. But for many Baptists, their prayers are so predictable they are
no more spontaneous than written-out prayers. The result is we end up praying the
same things over and over.
This daily Prayer Diary will prompt you on a wide range of prayer requests you
might not normally think of, while forcing you to articulate a deeper devotion to
God. We have included a daily Bible reading schedule. This plan will take you
through the Bible chronologically in a year.
Do not read ahead and do not try to catch up. Use each day as it comes. Then
you can know that on any given day, dozens of other people are lifting their hearts in
the same mind to God. Pray what is written, but use what is prayed as a springboard
for your own relationship with God. You learn to pray by praying.

Secret prayer is the secret of prayer, the soul of prayer, the seal of prayer, the
strength of prayer. If you do not pray alone you do not pray at all. Our Lord Jesus
Christ would go nowhere till He had prayed. He would attempt nothing till He had
prayed.
Oh, says one, I live in the spirit of prayer, and therefore I do not need times
and seasons for prayer. And do you think that Christ did not live in the spirit of
prayer? Yet He had to have his special time and place to pray. Do not fall under the
injurious notion that because your spirit cries to God in prayer all day long, therefore
there must not be some season for more immediately coming into Gods presence. If
you imagine this, I am afraid that it will prove a snare to your feet. The Lord Jesus
Christ, who knew better than you do that the main thing is the spirit of prayer rather
than the act of prayer, yet Himself retired into desert places to maintain the act and
exercise of prayer. Be spiritual. Be baptized into the spirit of prayer. But do not be
deceived by the enemy, who can steal a spirit away while we dream that we only
spiritualize it. We had better preserve the very bones of prayerthe posture, the
time, placerather than let it all ooze away into an impalpable mental condition.
God keep us prayerful. He will do so if He makes us like His dear Son.
Charles H. Spurgeon, 1834-92
