1. PURPOSE
This procedure outlines the methods to be followed for the Electrical&Instrument Cable
pulling activity.

2. SCOPE
This procedure is applicable to the KHABAT Project.Also including to the cable tray
installation according to the agreement.

3. RESPONSIBILITIES
Participate in and provide input to Safety Task Analysis Risk Reduction Talk (STARRT)/Job
Hazard Analysis. Provide HSE coverage for Commissioning activities and walk downs.
Cable pulling supervisor shall be ensuring that work area facilities are safe prior to cable
pulling work activities.
Personel Protection Equipment have to be used by workers
Our staff has the responsibility to check if workers are wearing the proper PPE at site.
If a worker is not working proper to the HSE rules; supervisor will stop him.
Cable Tray installation supervisors shall be ensuring that work area facilities are safe prior to
cable pulling work activities

Project Manager; directs and coordinates the work execution and the administration of the
works so as to ensure to compliance with the established schedule ,budgets and quality
requirements.

Const r uct ion Manag er, manage the activity of construction personnel ,to ensure that the
construction and installation work is in accordance with the established construction schedule .

Q C Departm ent; responsible controlling and directing the activities complying with the
quality requirements given in the references and reports to the Project Manager.
Administering and approving project inspection and test plan.
Reporting quality problems to the Project Manager.

4. PROCEDURES
The vendors instruction manual takes precedence over this procedure in the event of
conflicts. Detailed equipment installation procedures and parameters shall
be
according to the vendors manuals.

Cable pulling shall pulled proper to the project requirements and manuels.Cable will not
be had damage while pulling .

Cable rollers shall be placed at every 6-12 metres.

Cable shall be tested on cable drums.MV cables 5000V;LV cables 500V.The values will
be noted for core to core.

Cable shall not be pulling lower than -15 deg C as per cable specifacation

Cables shall be fixed in horizontal or vertical runs with plastic type straps indoor and at
outdoor.

Interval of clamping will not exceed 4m for the horizontal runs and 2 m for vertical runs
Bending radius of cables shall comply with cable manufacturer`s recommendation.
Cable will be laid / pulled by hand/ or winch.

Before cutting the cable ,both ends must be inspected to ensure sufficient length is for
proper dressing and end termination.

The open ends will be sealed till termination.

5. ACCEPTANCE CRITERIA
Installation of cable pulling shall be within project design and vendor requirements and
no damage.
