Description
The NVV AG operates six water works in their drinking water supply area
with a delivery rate of 3 500 m³/h and four storage tanks with a capacity of
10 100 m³. The estimated maximum hourly consumption is 4 340 m³ and

In the past, the only flow measurement in the system was made at the
supply outlet of the water works. The water level in the storage tanks
regulated the amount of drinking water fed into the supply system as well
as the amounts of water exchanged between the pressure zones and the
storage tanks. The balancing and regulating of the storage tanks inlet and
outlet amounts was not precise enough.

In the course of modernizing the piping system, three FLUXUS ADM type
7207 measuring systems were installed in the elevated service reservoir
at Ohlerkirchweg in Mönchengladbach. At the same time, several ultra-
sonic measurements were set up in the historic water towers of the
Viersener and Wickrather streets.
These newly installed measuring systems make it for the first time
possible to exactly monitor and control the amounts of water flowing
through and inside the facility. Thanks to FLEXIM's clamp-on-technique,
the installation was possible without cutting the pipe system or interrupting
operations.
