Host Servers/ Adapters

All host systems are supported where the host vendor allows the host/OS/adapter combination. All Fibre Channel HBAs from
Emulex (4 Gb/s, 8 Gb/s), QLogic (4 Gb/s, 8 Gb/s), and Brocade (8 Gb/s), including vendor rebranded versions. Any EMC or
vendor-supplied OS-approved driver/firmware/BIOS is allowed for these HBAs. Refer to ELN, https://elabnavigator.emc.com,
for supported models for the following:
16 Gb/s Fibre Channel HBAs from Emulex, QLogic, and Brocade.
10 Gb/s Cisco, Emulex and QLogic CNAs (10GbE, iSCSI, FCoE via FC-gateway).
10 Gb/s NICs for iSCSI connectivity, as supported by Server/OS vendor.

An RPQ is required to obtain this download.
For EMC VPLEX support, EMC GeoSynchrony 5.2.1 SP1 or later is required.
Not supported with PowerPath. Supported as DMP only.
Requires XtremIO OE 2.2.3 or later.
Boot from SAN is supported on all operating systems where XtremIO is supported. However, using boot from SAN with
VMware vSphere and HW iSCSI is not supported. When using boot from SAN with Linux iSCSI, consult the Linux Host
Connectivity Guide and EMC Support Matrix located at https://elabnavigator.emc.com.
Hyper-V is supported.
Requires XtremIO OE 2.4 or later and a minimum EMC ODM version 5.3.0.9 and 6.0.0.4. VIO 2.2.2 and later is
supported. Only Fibre Channel switch is supported. Refer to E-Lab Interoperability Navigator at
https://elabnavigator.emc.com for additional product support statements.
Supported with PowerPath and DMP beginning with PP 5.7 SP3.
Direct attach to Fibre Channel storage port in switch mode.
ESX clustering with PowerPath requires PowerPath 5.9 SP1 PO2.
For up-to-date XtremIO GUI Java compatibility information, refer to the XtremIO release notes. In addition, for XtremIO 3.0.0
(or earlier), refer to EMC Knowledgebase Solutions emc193700 and emc191612 for GUI issues with Java 7u71 and Java
8u25 and for steps to avoid a JAVA issue that affects tool tips and messages displayed by the XtremIO GUI.
PowerPath is not supported.
With XtremIO version 3.0.0-42, it is not possible to create SQL DB using SQL Server 12 or 14 on a physical Windows 2012
R2 server or on a Virtual Windows 2012 R2 server using RDM. Contact EMC Support to inquire about an upgrade to a
subsequent XtremIO version.
VMware 4.1 support requires XtremIO OE 2.4.1 or earlier.
Not supported with XtremIO 3.0.0.
Support begins with XtremIO 3.0.0.
LVM boot from SAN only.
iSCSI support for XtremIO 3.x requires XtremIO 3.0.1 or higher.
Supported with Oracle RAC 11.2.0.4 or 12.1.0.2 or later.
HF1 is required for ESXi 5.5, ESXi 5.5 U1, and ESX 5.5 U2.
Support begins with XtremIO 3.0.0 and later.
Not supported with XtremIO 3.x.

XtremIO 3.0.3 requires PowerPath 5.2 P05 or later.
When running the GUI with XtremIO 3.0.3 (3.0.3-11), refer to EMC Knowledgebase Solutions emc201037, XtremIO: Expired
Java Certificate Prevents XtremIO Graphical User Interface (GUI) From Successfully Launching.
Requires AIX 7.1 TL3 SP5 (71R), AIX 6.1 TL9 SP5 (6.1d), VIOS 2.2.3.5, ODM 5.3.1.0 - AIX 6.1, and ODM 6.0.0.5 - AIX 7.1.
AIX ODMs are available at ftp.emc.com. Login is anonymous/<email_address> and the path is pub/elab/aix/
ODM_DEFINITIONS.
