restrictedbytheacceptablelevelofresourceconsumptionbythetool.

TheClusterHealthMonitorisdevelopedtoprovidesystemmetricsanddatafortroubleshootingmanydifferenttypesofproblemssuchasnoderebootand
hang,instanceevictionandhang,severeperformancedegradation,andanyotherproblemsthatneedthesystemmetricsanddata.
Bymonitoringthedataconstantly,userscanusetheClusterHealthMonitordetectpotentialproblemareassuchasCPUload,memoryconstraints,and

IstheClusterHealthMonitorreplacingOSWatcher?
TheClusterHealthMonitorhasmanyadvantagesoverOSWatcher,andthemostsignificantisthattheClusterHealthMonitorrunsinrealtimeandusually
onceasecond,sotheClusterHealthMonitorwillcollectdataevenwhenOSWatchercannot.However,therearesomeinformationsuchastop,
traceroute,andnetstatthattheClusterHealthMonitordoesnotcollect,sorunningtheClusterHealthMonitorwhilerunningOSWatcherisideal.Bothtools
complementeachotherratherthansupplement.

thanCHMonaserverthatdoesnothavemanydisksandCPUs/memory.

DoesCHMonMultipleNodeconfigurations(e.g.4to8nodes)havescalingconcerns?
CHMfunctionalityisdesignedtoscaleautomaticallywiththecluster.Whileeachnodehostsanosysmonddaemon,theologgerddaemonservicesmultiple
osysmonds.Shouldaclustergrowlargeenoughanotherologgerddaemonisspawnedtomanagetheincreasedload.Theuserisresponsiblefor
increasingtheCHMdatarepositorysizeasnodesareaddedtoensuresufficientretentiontimeismaintained.Thisisrecommendedtobe72hours.

retentiontimeisdifferent.Forexample,itisusually6.9hoursforaonenodeclusterwhensamplingintervalis1second.Pleaseissue"oclumonmanage
