History of Omar Sultan Foundation

The great son of Chittagong, Chondonaish Thana in Bangladesh Alhaz M Nurul Amin has
established Omar Sultan Foundation for the development of society and country.
OS City group of Industries consists of 14 textiles, apparel, knitting & dyeing units and shipping
lines. The OS City group since its establishment has been contributing to the educational
institutes and students to create a Digital Bangladesh, skilled and efficient nation. This group
extends its hands to top ranked Bangladeshi Universities for a better and quality education and
also help the poor and economically dissolvent students of Bangladesh.
The Omar Sultan Foundation is a non-political charitable organization which offers scholarship
to poor and meritorious students across the country. It was originally established in 2001 by the
great son of Chittagong, Chondonaish Thana in Bangladesh Alhaz M Nurul Amin. It was
established with a mission to create a Digital Bangladesh, skilled and efficient nation.This
foundation extends its hands to top ranked Bangladeshi Universities for a better and quality
education and also help the poor and economically dissolvent students of Bangladesh.United
College of Aviation,Science & Management is one of the sister concern of this foundation. Omar
Sultan Foundation Lab at Faculty of Business Studies, Dhaka University and Omar Sultan Dental
Department at USTC Chittagong are two mention worthy recent donations of this foundation.

Omar Sultan Foundation conducts their operation across the Bangladesh. They want to serve
poor people, poor students, young people, jobless people in all regions of Bangladesh.

Target market
Every non-profit organization target some market segments that are very potential. Omar Sultan
Foundation also target some market segments to serve, such as

Poor but meritorious students

Jobless youth.
Lower income people.
Rural people

Poor but meritorious students: In rural area poor but meritorious students drop out from
school. Omar Sultan Foundation target these students to serve. The foundation helps the poor
students to continue their studies by providing scholarships. They also help the poor but
meritorious students through Micro Credit Program as well as Student Micro Credit Program.
Jobless Youth: There are many Jobless youth in Bangladesh. It is very serious problem in this
country. To solve this problem Omar Sultan Foundation target this segment. This foundation
trains these Jobless Youth and offers job to them in their different institutions. This foundation
also maintains Micro Credit Program for Jobless Youth.
Lower income people: Omar Sultan Foundation target lower income people to make them
economically powerful. This foundation tries to improve lifestyle of lower income people. They
provide Micro Credit facilities to the lower income people.
Rural people: In Bangladesh Majority people live in rural area. Economic development of
Bangladesh depends on rural people economic condition. So, Omar Sultan Foundation targets
rural people to develop their economic condition through its different program. Majority people
of rural area are illiterate. This foundation maintains some program to educate them.

Micro Credit Program : Omar Sultan Foundation maintains Micro Credit Program to
economically develop the Villages. They want to improve the condition of all village

people through Micro Credit Program.

Students Micro Credit Program : Through Students Micro Credit Program Omar
Sultan Foundation helps poor but meritorious students. They serve all poor meritorious

students to continue their studies properly.

Youth development project : Omar Sultan Foundation maintains Youth development
project to help jobless youth to become self dependent person. Through this project the

foundation trains jobless youth to get relevant job.

Scholarships for poor students : Omar Sultan Foundation offers scholarship for poor
and brilliant students. By providing scholarships this foundation helps poor and brilliant

students to properly continue their studies.

Omar Sultan Vocational Trainings : Omar Sultan Foundation arranges vocational
training for young generation who are fully or medium educated but jobless and provide

them job in different sectors of this foundation.

Omar Sultan Medical Services : Omar Sultan Foundation provides medical services to
ensure health services for lower income people. They try to help poor people to maintain

sound health.
Establish import based industries : To improve rural people economic condition Omar
Sultan Foundation establishes import based industries. These industries help poor rural
people to improve their life style.
