1.0 DEFINITION:
Specialized clothing or equipment worn by employee for protection against
health and safety hazards. Personal protective equipment is designed to protect
many parts of body i.e
1.1 Eyes.
1.2

Head

2.3 Face
2.4 Hands
2.5 Feet
2.6 Ears

2.0 Requisition of PPE


Store department will raise PR and follow up with supply chain for purchase of
PPE with advice from PPE group and Health & Safety Manager for PPE
specification. Store shall also keep and keep min-max for PPEs.
All departments shall provide required trousers, shirts & shoes size to store for
purchase.
Stores will keep 30 sets of mandatory PPE of mixed sizes in stock for any need
during year (new hires)
Hard hat for visitor to be kept at security gate will be green in color.

3.0

Issuance of PPE

Following will be re-issuance period for PPE.

Gloves, masks and other consumable as required.


Department BSA or designate shall raise move order with prior written approval
of department manager. Move order shall be approved by safety specialist and
store issue required PPEs to the person after confirmation of all required
documents.
Other consumable PPE like gloved, Face Masks, ear plugs and job related PPEs
like face shield, safety harnesses etc will be issued to department and they will
issue to their crew when required. Job related PPEs(welding jacket, helmet &
gloves etc ) will be purchase and issued as per requirement sent by safety group/
process. Department shall assess their PPE requirement for contactors, visitors,
clients or any person concerned to their department and keep this required
number of PPEs with them.

5.0 Lost / Torn out:


In case of torn out PPE , person will have to get approval in writing from his
departmental manager and operation director for replacement and will have to
submit old torn out PPE item to stores. In case of lost PPE approval in writing will
be required from HOD , Operation director and H&S Manager. Person who will
loose his PPE may be penalized equal to cost of lost item if management found
that there was carelessness found in securing the PPE. Damaged PPE recovered
to issue replacement will disposed by store.
