SUMMARY
The ATM Specialist is responsible for performing operational support duties of the ATM Department. Assists the ATM
Manager as directed; performs account reconciliation duties; monitors ATM status and currency usage; assists in the
proposal and installation process; and investigates ATM related electronic fund transfer (EFT) customer disputes or
fraudulent issues in accordance with state and federal regulations. Performs a variety of routine daily tasks; reviews
reports, prepares correspondence; participates in special department projects.
Assures compliance with all Bank policies and procedures, as well as, all applicable state and federal banking
regulations.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES
1.

Provides support to all areas of the department as directed or where service or assistance is needed; demonstrates
superior customer service with appropriate follow through with involved customers and employees.

2.

Conducts timely and accurate reconciliation of network settlement and correspondent accounts, ensuring accounts
are properly balanced; researches and rectifies out of balance conditions; processes and ensures timely clearing of
all exception items for both issuers and acquirers; responds to inquiries.

3.

Monitors ATM operational status and currency usage; prepares cash prediction analysis reports; coordinates
replenishment and shipment activities with the Banks central vault; corresponds with third party vendors for routine
or emergency maintenance.

4.

Reviews and monitors ATM transaction activity through reports and computer terminals to track trends, usage and
profitability; responsible for completion of and reporting on ATM profit analyses; submits various periodic reports to
Bank management and ATM networks.

5.

Responsible for investigating, initiating and completing ATM related EFT claims and correspondence to and from
customers, merchants, networks and processors in accordance with state and federal regulations; processes and
follows up on all related questions or complaints.

6.

Assists and/or coordinates investigations related to fraudulent ATM claims or activity; reports on claim status and
fraud related losses; files fraud reports with appropriate law enforcement, federal agencies and management;
handles customer related inquiries.

7.

Helps coordinate ATM related training presentations and exercises with all Bank personnel, including material
presented to employees during the new hire orientation process.

Assists in the proposal process regarding the placement of new ATMs; conducts associated duties to ensure an
accurate and timely response; helps coordinate the installation of new ATM machines.

Assists in the development and implementation of new or enhanced ATM related products and services.

10. Maintains a proficient knowledge of all applicable banking rules and regulations.
11. Assists in special projects and tasks for the department as directed.
12. Operates computer terminal or personal computer to process account activity, determine balances and resolve
problems within given authority.
13. Answers telephones, answers questions and directs callers to proper Bank personnel.
14. Assumes responsibility for various department functions in the absence of staff members or in overload situations.

all rules, regulations and orders issued pursuant to the OSHA Act of 1970, which are applicable to ones own actions
and conduct.

The position of ATM Specialist performs duties specific to the position and other functions as assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY
The position of ATM Specialist is not responsible for the supervision of any employee(s).

ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL ACTIVITY


The incumbent is in a non-confined office type setting in which he or she is free to move about at will. The position
includes driving a Bank or personal owned vehicle approximately PERCENT of the time which includes exposure to the
outside weather elements and moving mechanical parts. It may include some minor annoyances such as noise, odors,
drafts, etc.
The incumbent, in the course of performing this position spends time writing, typing, speaking, listening, lifting (up to
NUMBER pounds), driving, carrying, seeing (such as close, color and peripheral vision, depth perception and adjusted
focus), sitting, pulling, walking, standing, squatting, kneeling and reaching.
The incumbent for this position may operate any or all of the following: telephone, cellular telephone, beeper, copy and
fax machines, adding machine (calculator), check protector, microfilm equipment, encoder, money counter, credit card
terminal, typewriter, computer terminal, personal computer and related printers.

The incumbent in this position must be able to accommodate to reading documents or instruments, detailed work,

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
These specifications are general guidelines based on the minimum experience normally considered essential to the

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or TIME PERIOD of related experience and/or training; or
the equivalent combination of education and experience. Work related experience must consist of ATM or bankcard
support background in the financial services industry. Educational experience, through in-house training sessions,
formal school or financial industry related curriculum, should be applicable to the financial industry.

Basic knowledge of related state and federal banking compliance regulations, Bank policies and procedures, and the
Banks products and services.

Basic experience, knowledge and training in ATM or bankcard activities, terminology and products and services.

Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, and technical procedures.

Good organizational and time management skills.

Basic skills in computer terminal and personal computer operation; mainframe computer system; word processing,
spreadsheet and specialty software programs.

Basic typing skills to meet production needs of the position.

Basic math skills; ability to calculate interest, commissions, proportions, and percentages; balance accounts; add,
subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals; locate
routine mathematical errors; compute rate, ratio and percent, including the drafting and interpretation of bar graphs.

Exceptional verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to apply common sense to carry
out instructions and instruct others, train personnel, write reports, correspondence and procedures, speak clearly to
customers and employees.

Ability to deal with simple problems involving multiple facets and variables in standardized situations.

Ability to work with general supervision while performing duties.

Current STATE drivers license and a vehicle with appropriate insurance coverage if required to drive in the course of
performing assigned duties and responsibilities.
