The typical profile of the Alliances Strategy Analyst:
Qualifications: Bachelors in Engineering (Computer Science/Electronics/Electrical preferred) or Bachelors
in Mechanical Engineering with inclination for Mechatronics/Robotics or MCA required - Masters in Business Administration is a plus but a feel for technology with business strategy will be needed. Job Description: Work with Senior Alliance Management and BU Alliances teams on articulating the HPE Alliances Strategy across the Corporate Alliances. Business analysis and quantitative modeling of business opportunity to derive insights and make the right recommendations on Alliance Strategy. As part of the role the person will also require to have a strong understanding of Enterprise Technology with a well-rounded understanding of enterprise hardware, software and services. This role will need the person to be comfortable with working with extreme ambiguity and very limited guidance, and hence the person should have high levels of self-motivation to work on ambiguous exercises with very limited visibility of end-state. As a Strategy analyst the person will have to have strong grip on business strategy and balance sheets to comfortably handle business scenario analysis and modeling where needed to articulate recommendations. Skills and capabilities needed: Strong grounding in Finance or ability to understand Finance from a Corporate Finance and Investment Banking capabilities. Ability to run with new and emerging technologies with limited background of working on the same. Good analytical and business modeling skills with statistical understanding. Strong communications is a must and the individual has to operate fearlessly irrespective of role and rank as there will be strong interactions required at Senior Management levels. Ability to withstand pressure cooker situations is a must as this is a high-pressure and highly volatile role in an ambiguous environment. Potential pool of candidates: Corporate Strategy of technology firms, Analyst organizations, Corporate Development teams if we look for senior folks with around two years to three years of work experience. Alternately from Tier II and Tier III campuses offering Full-time MBAs or Full-time Management Diploma or Fellow Programs. Assessment of candidates: This will be done on ability to think and solution on the fly, quantitative, finance, business strategy. The assessment exercise will cover interviews, case-based assessment and related experience. The assessment will be overlooked for the right candidate with the right attitude even if some of the criterias are falling through. Priority will be given for female candidates as part of the gender diversity push but can be revaluated if there is a better candidate otherwise.
