Abstract
In this era of technology, imagining life without electronic gadgets is impossible. One of the most
important of these gadget is mobile phone. From making a simple call to using it for calculations, for
Internet browsing, Video calls and sometimes even as a torch too.
Thus proving to be an essential and must have gadget. But it lies in the some limitations like limited
battery life.so in order to make it a limitless gadget, I present my design for solving this problem. What if
the battery of your mobile lasts infinitely long. It never displays a message stating LOW BATTERY.
Exciting
The back cover of our mobile phone is just a plane simple piece of plastic, which is of no use except for
covering the battery and a show off. What if I replace the back cover of the phone with a shiny small
Solar Panel, connected to the battery.

Charge Rate
Charge rate is often denoted as C or C-rate and signifies a charge or discharge rate equal to the capacity
of a battery in one hour. For a 1.6Ah battery, C = 1.6A. A charge rate of C/2 = 0.8A would need two hours,
and a charge rate of 2C = 3.2A would need 30 minutes to fully charge the battery from an empty state, if
supported by the battery. This also assumes that the battery is 100% efficient at absorbing the charge.
A battery charger may be specified in terms of the battery capacity or C rate; a charger rated C/10 would
return the battery capacity in 10 hours, a charger rated at 4C would charge the battery in 15 minutes. Very
rapid charging rates, 1 hour or less, generally require the charger to carefully monitor battery parameters
such as terminal voltage and temperature to prevent overcharging and damage to the cells.
Solar Cell
Battery
Working
The working of the design is very simple. During the day time when sunlight is present the solar cells
will charge the battery and we can run the mobile phone batteries on the power given by solar cells
this is like that when we use the mobile phone while charging it and when we use it on the
batteries. And in the night time we can run the mobile phone on the charging done through solar
cells during the daytime.
Technical Details: In the picture you will first see a battery attached to a solar panel. This shows that we
will connect the battery directly to the solar panel so that the battery can be charged. Now when we
have our Battery getting charged the mobile phone attached to the battery and used.
Common Issues Some of the problems this idea will face in adoption/development
The cost-The implementation of this design would result in increase in cost of mobile phones
due to the high cost of solar panels.
Handling-The handling of mobile phone equipped with a solar panel is difficult as if the mobile
falls from a height it might crack the panel. Also solar panels are not made for rough uses.
Solutions to the above problem The increment would be around Rs.700, which can be neglected in todays world where the per
capita income is increasing.
The handling problem can be solved by applying a layer of plastic over the panel just like a
screen guard on a touch screen so as to prevent scratches and other wears.
Conclusion
Many companies are spending crores of rupees on increasing battery backup but this idea can achieve
this easily. It gives infinitely lasting battery life without affecting the pocket of the common man.It can be
implemented easily and can reach to the end user without involving much problems
