parking at first pres

Part of making our church a welcoming place for guests
is to make our campus as accessible as possible.
The good news is, the church shares ownership in a parking
garage across the street, and helps to maintain it so you can
easily find free parking every Sunday and during the week.
We leave street and on-campus parking for visitors, seniors
and those who need extra accessibility to the buildings.
If you are a church member and would like to purchase
a parking card for the church garage for $10, please stop
by the lobby desk at Edington Ministry Center during
the week.

traditional worship
Throughout the Scriptures, God uses time to
communicate with His people of His love and care.
Think about it. God being eternal and never not
existing from before time was even time (!), is
completely outside of time as we know it. Yet He
humbled himself in stepping into time partly to
communicate with His creation. In doing so, He
established specific days in the year to teach us and
remind us of what He has done. Leviticus 23 goes
into some detail as to what He wanted His people to
remember. We celebrate the Nativity, Lent, Holy Week,
Easter, the Ascension, and Pentecost for that very
reason. We are brought back again and again to Gods
work on our behalf, but it is not an historical work
simply to be remembered as some other historical
event. There are living ramifications of Easter,
Pentecost and so forth. Notice all the days mentioned
are tied directly to Gods intervening in time on earth.
Part of their purpose is to keep us Christ-focused as
He lives His life in and through us. Today, Trinity
Sunday, is a little bit unique in that it is the only day
which is doctrinal in nature. We turn our attention
not to a specific event in Jesus life, but to the nature
of the Trinity. The opening of our worship today has
a pointed Trinitarian focus. Join your voice to the
hundreds of others as we worship our timeless God
who dwells in the heavens and in the hearts of those
sitting around you.
