COURSE OUTCOMES :
At the end of the course, students should be able to:1. Describe basic fundamentals of engineering survey.
2. Use theodolite, level and modern surveying equipments for field survey.
3. Analyse data taken from the stated surveying equipments.
COURSE DESCRIPTION :
This course deals with the work of surveying in Civil Engineering practices. Students
will be introduced to surveying equipments, surveying techniques and analysis.

TEACHING METHODOLOGY
a) Lectures
Lectures given to cover basic principles of each topic. Background reading of
referenced materials will be assigned. Example will be shown in class. Upgraded
assignments will be given to students at the end of each topic. Discussions of problems
encountered by students while attempting assignments.
b) Field works
The fieldwork will be utilized knowledge and conduct the field survey project that are
related to theory given. Establishment of control survey, traversing, contouring, road and
building setting out will be carried out from each group. Lecturer will supervise this group
and the survey data will be produced as a plan and laboratory report.
