A Special Thank You

Thank you to everyone who had a part in the special recognition I received this past Sunday. What a shock
and surprise – something one never expects to receive! An extra-special thank you to my daughter,
Margaret, who gathered the information and to Jone Barnick for doing an awesome job reading it. I have
enjoyed every part of Zion United Methodist Church and all the many friends I have made. Again, thank
you. – JoAnn White

Sidewalk Sonday School – VOLUNTEERS & DONATIONS NEEDED

From May 31 – June 4, we will have Sidewalk Sonday School at Richard’s West Park. This is available for
all children ages 5-12. Games will begin at 4:45 p.m. and dinner will be at 5:15 p.m. After dinner, the music,
lesson and crafts will be conducted by Dakota Conference staff (ending time is 7:30 p.m.). What we need
from Zion are “Shepherds” to help the children & take part in their lesson. We also need donations of food
(please see sign-up sheet in the Narthex), as well as housing and meals for the persons from the Dakotas
Conference. Please contact Nancy Evans (ny_evans@yahoo.com) if you have questions or if you would
like to help with this community mission project. We need your assistance to make this work!

Parish Nurse
For health questions and/or concerns, our Parish Nurse, Bette Olson, can be reached on her cell phone
(218-791-5151) or at the church office.

Sunday School Teachers Needed for 2010-2011
The Education team is planning for next year's Sunday School. We invite all of this year's
teachers back and we are looking for more teachers! We would like to increase the number of
classes offered for our children, if possible. This year we combined several years together.
Please consider teaching next year! If you are interested, please talk to anyone on the Education
team: Sue Carter, Nancy Evans, Carrie Jackson, Barb Krueger, Jill Kuster or Cynthia Shabb. You
may also e-mail Cynthia to volunteer or ask any questions. Thank you for considering this
opportunity to serve. cshabb@hotmail.com

Prayer Chain
The purpose of Zion’s prayer chain is to offer and receive prayer support during times of need. To sign up
for email alerts, contact Connie Sherwood at csherwood@gfschools.org or floblue@aol.com or the church
office at zionumc@midconetwork.com.
