Introduction
Geothermal energy comes from the heat within the earth. The word
"geothermal" comes from the Greek words geo, meaning earth," and
therme, meaning "heat." People around the world use geothermal energy
to produce electricity, to heat buildings and greenhouses, and for other
purposes.
The earth's core lies almost 2500 kilometers beneath the earth's surface.
The double-layered core is made up of very hot molten iron surrounding
a solid iron center. Estimates of the temperature of the core range from
5,000 to 10,000 degrees Celsus (C). Heat is continuously produced
within the earth by the slow decay of radioactive particles that is natural
in all rocks.
Surrounding the earth's core is the mantle, thought to be partly rock and
partly magma. The mantle is about 1000 kilometers thick. The outermost
layer of the earth, the insulating crust, is not one continuous sheet of
rock, like the shell of an egg, but is broken into pieces called plates.
These slabs of continents and ocean floor drift apart and push against
each other at the rate of about one inch per year in a process called
continental drift.

FLASH STEAM POWER PLANT
Flash Steam Power Plants are the most common form of geothermal
power plant. The hot water is pumped under great pressure to the
surface. When it reaches the surface the pressure is reduced and as a
result some of the water changes to steam. This produces a blast of
steam. The cooled water is returned to the reservoir to be heated by
geothermal rocks again.

Aim
The project we will work on will be small Flash steam power plant.
And we will investigate the energy given and the cost of the plant
n the flash steam power plant heat become pressure accourding to the
ideal gas equation
PV=nRT
The pressure become force which will turne the turbine

Modulation

We consider a pipe of 150m length and diameter of 10 m

We conider that the pressure in down is 5000Kpa according to NASA
(https://www.grc.nasa.gov/www/k12/WindTunnel/Activities/fluid_pre
ssure.html)
Velocity at the inlet is 20 m/s according to this table
Velocity
(ft/min) (m/s)
Air, 0-30 psi, steel pipe 4000
20
Fluid

Assumptions
1. The pipe is fricionless and one dimensional .incompressible and
irrotational
2. Conservation of mass energy and momentum
Calculations

P2 =P 1 -9.81*150= 3528,5Kpa

Then the energy applied on the turbine will be

3528,5KW
f we have a turbine with effincy of 0,6
We will get 2117,1 KW
Then we can get an energy of 7,62156 MW/h
Estimated that demand of electricity per person in less devloped countries is
0,2 KW and in devloped countries 1,0 KW , thus 7 MW would serve 10,000 to
35,000 peopole with electricity

f the cost range from 0,05 to 0,07 dollar to kwh during 12 years we will earn
20,000,000 dolars so it will be benifating for us after only 8 years.

Conclusion
Geothermal energy is a sustainble energy with long life span which is very
benefictal in rural places which transportation is costy .
