A common problem of mankind, which is a
way of killing, is smoking. Many people
start the habit of smoking as a stress
release or because of personal problems.
Some people want to enjoy it or just feel
proud
of
themselves
by
smoking.
However, in many cases they tend to be
addicted. In reality, the enjoyment or
pleasure, or whatever else they gain from
smoking harms them in many ways.
Smoking is too dangerous for smokers as
well as non-smokers around them. The
most adverse effect of smoking is on own
health. Smokers tend to be unhealthy and
live shorter than non-smokers. Smoking
leads to Lung cancer, and affect each and

every part of the body. It affects the nose,

mouth,
tongue,
esophagus,
larynx,
trachea,
lungs,
liver,
stomach,
autoimmune system, blood, pancreas,
heart, bladder, kidneys and many more. It
also affects the vision and bones. When
smokers smoke, they release smoke; they
release a lot of harmful gases along with
small invisible particles, which rise up in
the air. It may lead to cancer and heart
risks, and can also lead the others in such
serious health problems. About 80% of
deaths are caused due to COPD which is a
lung disease caused by smoking.
A cigarette contains harmful chemicals,
such as Ammonia (Household cleaner),
Benzene (used in rubber cement),
Cadmium (active component in battery
acid), Carbon monoxide (a deadly gas),
Lead (used in batteries), Naphthalene
(used in mothballs), Arsenic (used in rat
poison), Methanol (main component of
rocket fuel) and Nicotine (used as
insecticide) and many more. Those
harmful substances are very injurious to
health.

People like smoking because of the

presence of Nicotine. Nicotine in small
amounts acts as a mind refresher and
cools the mind down, but in more doses it
proves as a deadly poison. Many people
still like those and are unaware, or forget
about this.
Even it may prove harmful to smokers, it
may be risky to non-smokers around a
smoker. Some chemicals rise up with
smoke and when someone breathes this
smoke, it may lead to serious diseases.
Smoking is also dangerous for pregnant
women as it may lead to the baby having
low amount of oxygen in the womb. It may
lead to miscarriage and stillbirth too. It
can also increase the babys heart rate
and increase the rate of SIDS (Sudden
Infant Death Syndrome). These all are the
risks of smoking. Despite efforts by Govt
and many organization, the production
and consumption of cigarette is on rise.
Efforts must be taken to reduce the
production of cigarettes and other tobacco
products.

SO PLEASE QUIT SMOKING

Stop harming yourself and others.
