REGULATION UNE-EN13724
In November 2002 the EUROPEAN COMMITTEE FOR STANDARDIZATION (CEN) approved the regulation EN13724 related to
mailboxes, subsequently published in 2003 and updated in 2013 in every European country, reforming all regulations theretofore in vigor.
In Spain, AENOR published this regulation under the reference UNE-EN13724 on May 30th 2003. Its appearance in the BOE
n 205 was cited August 27th 2003. Thus making the new regulation the sole reference in the European mailbox market.
Arregui have at their disposal a complete range of mailboxes which fully comply with the aforementioned regulation, and
which are individually documented in the list of specifications of each model in this catalogue.
CORROSION RESISTANCE
The regulation UNE-EN13724 resides in the regulation UNE-EN1670, Construction Industry Ironwork, in order to establish a
specific measure of the degrees of corrosion.
This regulation classifies corrosion in four distinct degrees varying from light exposure in interior environments which are
typically dry, to exposure in severe, highly contaminated environments.
Here at Arregui our anti-corrosion testing is based strictly on the new regulations and the classification of each mailbox and
its degree of resistance is indicated:
