WE NEED GOD TO GUIDE US

by Creflo Dollar | 7 May 2016

SUMMARY
We have no idea what the future holds for us, and the Bible says that our lives
are like a puff of smoke, here today and gone tomorrow. We cannot hope to
improve ourselves through our own efforts, and we will not be able to produce
godly results without Gods guidance. We need Him working for us and through
us, and when we trust Him, He makes us into a brand new creature that has
never existed before. But in order for this to happen, we must remember to rest
in Him so that He can work. This makes the difference between success and
failure for us.
A. God wants us to rest in Him so that He can bless us.
a.
We do not know what will happen tomorrow. Our life is a vapor,
appearing for a while and then vanishing. We should say, If God will, then
we shall live (James 4:14, 15).
1.

We need God. We must let Him know this, because He loves to be

needed.
2.
Under the Law, we worked for God. Under grace, He works for us.
b.
We should fear lest any of us come short of a promise of entering into
Gods rest (Hebrews 4:1).
1.

The Scripture deliberately emphasizes entering into the rest. This

is a priority, and all other things depend on this.
b. God gave the people a land for which they did not labor, cities they did not
build, and vineyards and olive yards they did not plant, but ate from (Joshua
24:13).
1.

This was not based on their labor. This teaches us that it is

possible for God to do something for us without us having to work for it.
c. God told the people that when He brought them into the land He had
promised their fathers to give them, gave them great cities they did not
build, houses they did not fill, and vineyards and olive trees they did not
plant, they must not forget Him Who led them out of bondage
(Deuteronomy 6:10-13).
1.

When God blesses us, we need to acknowledge and advertise it is

the Lords doing.
B. It is extremely important to God that we find the peace and rest He wants for us.
1.
We must labor into rest, lest anyone fall after the example of unbelief
(Hebrews 4:11).
a.

2.
a.

It is interesting to note that this Scripture does not say labor to get
healed, to prosper, or to be delivered. We are specifically commanded to
work toward Gods rest.
Cast all your care on God, for He cares for you (1 Peter 5:7).

Care robs us of rest. Rest is a prerequisite for manifestations. We

must not let someone elses drama become our emergency.
3.
Be careful for nothing. In everything by prayer and supplication with
thanksgiving, give God your requests (Philippians 4:6).

a.

When the care of the world enters in, it will choke the Word and
make it unfruitful.
4.
When Jesus fed five thousand people, He told His disciples to make
everyone sit down first (John 6:10, 11).
a.

For us, this means we must recline and be at rest first before we
can see Gods miracles.
5.
God keeps those in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on Him, because
they trust in Him (Isaiah 26:3).
a.

Peace must come first, before manifestations.
