Village Values

We have mentioned many times how elated we are to have received a grant from the U.S.
Department of Agriculture (USDA) to support Trinity's Farmers Market. You should know there
is a powerful and informative National Public Radio podcast (The Fighting for the Promised
Land) you can download for free that documents the incredibly horrifying struggle our Black
farmers endured not so long ago and puts into perspective the relational significance between
the USDA and Black farmers (like Mr. Barker from Pembroke, IL, shown with his grandson in the
photo above). To listen, please visit our website, endeleoinstitute.org or thirdcoastfestival.org.
Telling our story is an empowering exercise. It has never been more important for connecting
our past to our present and charting our future. Village Values. We pray that you listen to the
podcast and fully support Trinity's Farmers Market this season, with an entirely fresh, new
perspective. By Any Greens Necessary!

connectedness of our work.
