Grand Opening Of ProJet Aviation At The Leesburg Government Airport

ProJet Aviation, a Metro-DC area aircraft administration and air charter company,
has opened a new corporate aviation facility at Leesburg Government Airport (JYO).
Keynote speaker Mark Grady, aviation writer and commercial pilot, used wit and
humor to encourage conference attendees to construct better relationships with

airport managers, sponsors and consultants had the opportunity to take part in
roundtable discussions with the respective region's Virginia Aviation Board member.
The 4-day conference, sponsored by the Virginia Aviation Board, Virginia
Department of Aviation (DOAV), Virginia Airport Operators Council and the Virginia
Business Aviation Affiliation, kicked off with welcoming remarks from DOAV Director
Randall Burdette and Diane Crean, FAA Eastern Region Deputy, who discussed
ProJet Aviation in Leesburg the big range of academic aviation applications for kids
starting from fifth grade by way of highschool the FAA affords.
Ray Conlon received the Virginia Aviation Person of the Year award in recognition of
his significant role in guaranteeing the security of Virginia's airports as Chief
Inspector of Austin Electrical Building. James E. Bennett was honored with the
Virginia Aviation Lifetime Achievement Award for his lifetime contributions to
aviation in Virginia as President and CEO of the Metropolitan Washington Airports

The Virginia Division of Aviation (DOAV) recently acknowledged Rick Rahim of Great
Falls, Richard Largent of Stephens City (who was honored at the Virginia Aviation
Conference, picture right) and William Bryant of Woodlawn with Top Eagle awards
for their participation within the Experimental Plane Association's Young Eagles
Program. The EAA Younger Eagles program was launched in 1992 to provide
fascinated children, ages 8-17, an opportunity to go flying in a common aviation
plane. Over this past year, in the Commonwealth of Virginia alone, 1,704 young
people were introduced to aviation by means of this system.
Vogel is co-founder and partner at Mehlman Vogel Castagnetti, Inc., a non-partisan
lobbying group, in Washington, DC. He has lobbied on behalf of aviation
organizations like the Air Transport Affiliation on issues such as the Airline Passenger
Invoice of Rights Act and the Abolishing Aviation Boundaries Act. The board
establishes and displays funding program policy and provides a means of citizen
entry to the Virginia Department of Aviation (DOAV) in an effort to advertise and
develop a secure aviation atmosphere. Fifth Annual Aviation Education Expo hosted
