The CSIM board controls over MPIM, MPXM, WBPM and TFM,
while it cannot control the other boards.
2. Board in-position detection function
The CSIM board communicates with the other boards to judge
whether the boards run normally. To learn a more real running
status of the boards, the CSIM board can implement in-position
detection of each board through the backplane or the connection cable.
3. Board reverse insertion prevention function
If a board is inserted upside down, the board fails to contact
the backplane normally so as to protect the equipment from
damage.

Signal Flow
Forward Service
The ZXMBW B9100 receives the forward service from AGW
through R6 interface, and implements signal coding and
modulation. After that the coded and modulated signals are
19
Reverse Service
The antenna receives the reverse service that from access terminals, and passes the service to the RRU. The RRU performs
radio demodulation on the service. The demodulated signals
are transmitted to ZXMBW B9100 through fiber or local connection. The ZXMBW B9100 decodes the signal, and sends the
signal to core network through the R6 interface.
Signal Flows
Service Signal Flow
In ZXMBW B9100, the control plane signal flow and the media
plane signal flow are combined into one signal flow.
Forward Signal
Flow
20
The service signals from the CN flows from the AGW into the CSIM
board through the R6 interface. After the signals pass the Ethernet
switch, they are distributed to MPXM, MPIM and WBPM boards to
implement MAC and PHY processing of baseband modulation. The
signals are then sent to RRU through the baseband-RF interface.
Reverse Signal
Flow
The RF signals from the MS flow into the WBPM board through the
baseband-RF interface. After the signals pass the Ethernet switch,
they are distributed to the MPXM, MPIM and WBPM boards for MAC
and PHY processing of baseband demodulation. Finally, the signals
are sent to the AGW through the R6 interface of the CSIM board.
21
Power Distribution
The external -48 V power supply goes through the DC power cable
to the PM panel through its panel inlet. The PM panel processes
and outputs 12 V and 3.3 V into the boards in the chassis.
22
The cool air blows into the cabinet through the air intake vent at
the bottom and goes upwards through the air exhaust vent at top.
Figure 13 shows the air flow in the ZXMBW B9100 air channel.

Ethernet cable is used to connect ZXMBW B9100 and OMC, or to
connect ZXMBW B9100 and AGW when they are interconnected
through the Ethernet. Ethernet cable is made of shielded super
category 5 cable. For outdoor use, adopt the outdoor Ethernet
cable.

GPS Feeder
The GPS feeder connects the GPS antenna and the clock module
of ZXMBW B9100. It sends the signals that are received by the
GPS antenna to the clock module for processing, and sends the
DC power supply that is provided by the clock module to the GPS
antenna as the working voltage.
When the GPS feeder length is shorter than 100m, adopt the 1/4"
RF coaxial cable. When the GPS feeder length is longer than 100m,
adopt the 1/2" RF coaxial cable.

R6 Interface
R6 interface defines the processing flow between BS and ASN-GW.
The signaling between the BS and the ASN-GW is transmitted
through the R6 tunnel in the format of User Datagram Protocol
(UDP) plus the signaling format defined by NWG stage 3. The media plane data is borne over the encapsulation tunnel protocol.
UDP bears R6 signaling. Generic Routing Encapsulation (GRE),
Multiple Protocol Label Switching (MPLS) and Virtual Local Area
Network (VLAN) bears R6 data.
The ASN-GW terminates the R6 tunnel from the BS. The R6 tunnel
can adopt various encapsulation technologies, such as GRE, MPLS
and VLAN, and different tunnel granularities are allowed. The R6
data path supports encapsulation protocol and tunnel granularity
negotiation.

Baseband-RF Interface
Baseband-RF interface, an interface between BBU and RRU, complies with the OBSAI RP3 protocol. The BBU and RRU that is designed based on the protocol can interconnect with each other,
featuring general, reliable, and flexible.
OBSAI Frame
Structure
Message
Message is the basic unit of OBSAI. A message is 19 bytes long,
consisting of address, type, timestamp, and payload. Figure 64
shows the frame structure.

MG
Each message group (MG) consists of multiple M_MG messages
and K_MG IDLE codes. The number of bytes that are contained
in an MG is M_MG x 19 + K_MG = 21 x 19 + 1 = 400 (Bytes).
Figure 65 shows the structure of an MG.

THREE TYPES
OF
RATES
At any of the three rates, Master Frame is 10 ms. The line rate
is (I x 768000/10ms) x 8 x 10/8 = I x 768 Mbps. 1x is 768
Mbps, 2x is 1536 Mbps, and 4x is 3072 Mbps.
