Are You a Water Waster?

What you need:

clean, empty, one-quart milk cartons - new toothbrushes - toothpaste
What to do:
1. Brush your teeth with the water running. At the same time, have another person fill
the containers with the running water until you finish brushing.
2. Record how many quart containers are filled. Then use that information to figure out
how much water your family uses to brush their teeth.
3. Multiply the number of family members by the number of times each person brushes his or her teeth per day.
4. Then multiply the result by the total number of quarts of water you collected during one brushing. That's how many
quarts of water your family can save by not running the water when they brush!

JUSTINA WANTS YOU...

To be prepared for the FCAT!!!

1.Make sure your child attends school regularly and is on time. Remember that tests
reflect the overall achievement of your child. The more often the child is in a learning situation,
the more likely he/she will do well on tests.
2.Give your child encouragement. Praise him/her for the things done well throughout the year.
A child who is afraid of failing is more likely to make a mistake. Encourage children
to relax and do their best.
3.See that your child has a well-rounded diet. A healthy body leads to a healthy,
active mind.
4.Make sure your child has everything they need to be successful the
day of the test: a good breakfast, glasses, medicine if needed, a sweater or jacket in
case the room is cold etc.
