At the end of the course, students should be able to:

Perform arithmetic operations and conversions of numbers

Derive and simplify the logic function from Boolean expression, truth table, timing
diagram, and logic circuit.

Design and implement combinational logic circuit by using specific gates requirement,
format or tool requirement

Construct combinational logic circuit to represent arithmetic circuits, decoders,

encoders, multiplexers, demultiplexers, or comparators.

Define and identify/ differentiate the sequential circuit elements and properties

Perform an analysis by means of excitation table, timing diagram and state diagram on a
sequential system to obtain the present and next state relationship

Synthesize a sequential system according to specifications

Interpret the sequential circuits or FSMs into corresponding models and charts (ASM
and state diagram).

Notes:
Assignment must be submitted by the stipulated date. Otherwise you will get zero mark.
Ask questions if you have any difficulties in understanding the contents of the course. Work
hard, understand the concepts applied and do related exercises/problems are the keys to
success.
It is important that you attend every class. Those who remain absent will be penalised and
their parents & sponsor will be informed.
Keep your hand phone silent during lecture / tutorial
