People of the Parish
Morning Prayer is prayed before every weekday Mass and the Rosary is prayed after
Mass: all are welcome to join us

CATHOLIC WOMENS LEAGUE The CWL, as a national project, are supporting local women's
refuges by donating items which are needed. They particularly require new single duvets, new
pillows and new single mattress protectors. If you would like to donate any of these items please
email our Parish Secretary, yvonnecaff@talktalk.net, and we will arrange collection.
SLOUGH FOODBANK Firstly. Your donation of food, which they received on 20th April weighed
21.3 kgs and is equivalent to about 24 individual meals. Thank you to all Parishioners whose
gifts made up this donation. They greatly appreciate your generosity and continued support.
Their stocks of foods are in a much better balance now that we have reduced sending products
they already have in plenty and have responded by sending those on their wish lists. THANK
YOU. It is suggested that if you are now giving smaller quantities of food, that you might
consider making up each donation by adding a financial contribution. Secondly. They have been
aware for some time that some of their clients cannot afford the gas/electricity to cook the food
which they like to give them and they have had to limit the selection of products for them to those
that do not have to be cooked. They have now been able to set up a FUELBANK involving a
voucher system, similar to the Foodbank voucher system, which has proved so effective. Earlier
in the year they gave vouchers to their Partner Agencies and they gave some to a few people.
They plan to continue to do this as, we and they, identify people suffering from Fuel Poverty. If
you would like to contribute to this scheme, please put your gift in an envelope marked
FUELBANK and give it to your Foodbank Champion.. Thirdly. One more thing which you could
give Slough Foodbank. - With the change in the law regarding plastic bags, they get far fewer
recycled bags for their clients to carry home the foods which they give them. If you have any,
from time to time, they could make very good use of every one of them. Fourthly..The Wish List
for MAY is as follows. They would very much welcome receiving: rice as 500g or 1kg packets,
long life milk as1 litre cartons, instant mash potato, and shampoo, laundry powder tablets,
washing up liquid, womens hygiene products, paper towels and toilet paper.
