As you can see from the above figures there have been an increase in the number of criminal
damage and vehicle crime figures in the area and an even bigger increase in incidents of ASB
cases since this time last year. We have identified 4 main culprits of Anti-Social behaviour
and PC Gibbs has been and had a word with them and their parents. If their behaviour does
not change we will be looking at ABCs and ASBOs for these specific youths who have also
been linked to the reports of criminal damage to buildings and vehicles. Regarding vehicle
crime we have also identified a small out of area team which we believe to be responsible
and so intelligence is being gathered to put a stop to them.
Please see over leaf on advice on how to keep your vehicle safe over the Summer period and
help us keep the number of burglaries in the area to a minimum.
Please continue to ring 101 with all Anti-Social Behaviour incidents...the more we have and
more information on the offenders the easier it is for us to act...Many thanks!

How to prevent Vehicle Crime in the Summer months:
Remove all items of property when you leave your vehicle including sat navs, their
mounting cradles and wipe away any sucker marks.
Consider leaving your glove box open to show it is empty.
Secure your vehicle with an immobiliser, alarm or tracking device.

Extra patrols in the

area and identities of
youths being gathered.

Always keep your vehicle locked even if you are only leaving it for a few seconds. (Dont
leave the window open during the Summer especially.)
Park your vehicle in an area where many people are moving about, ensure when it goes
dark that the area is illuminated.
Thieves are cowards. Help us catch a coward.

Environmental Services

Prevent a Burglary in the Summer months:

Please do not leave your windows open when you go out; it is an obvious entry point. Ensure you make your
property look occupied in the evening by either using a light or radio etc. If you wish to have a free Home Security
Assessment by myself then please contact me on the below office number or email address. Also make sure you
report ANY suspicious activity to our 101 number; or 999 if you think it is an emergency.
