Lesson Focus: rules, daily routines, meeting each other
Unit/Topic/Theme: Foreing languages
Standards:
A. Standard 1: By speaking, and writing students will express themselves in a culturallyappropriate manner for many purposes.
D. Standard 4: Students will develop an understanding of other cultures, including such
elements as their value systems, languages, traditions and individual perspectives.
E. Standard 5: Students will understand how language works.
F. Standard 6: Students will use the language studied to reinforce and expand knowledge
of other disciplines.

Instructional Objectives: Students will be able to:


Speaking: Students will present formal presentations over a
previously selected topic. This gives the student the opportunity to
articulate sentences about an specific topic
Students will also converse with each other about topics presented in
class.
Writing: Students will be provided text from an authentic source and
be required to read the information, identify cognates, false cognates
and specific information.
Language Objectives: Students will identify sentences structure and vocabulary previously
learned or acquired in other ways.
Key Vocabulary: Identify, Analyze, elements, formal, informal
Accomodations: use of illustrations to convey meaning, provide plenty of time for students to
feel comfortable to produce oral responses in target language, provide one on one help as needed,
cooperative learning activities.
Previous Learning Connections: Students have discusses and experienced daily routines and
activities from other courses.
Interdisciplinary Connections: Connections to the real world: respect, responsibility.
