Introduction.
For so many decades English has been viewed as a difficult subject and most feared by students,
parents and educators alike. Looking at the scenario of teaching and learning in the classroom today,
it seems that there is a stereotyping in the manner English is taught; drilling, drilling and lots of drilling
but yet the result is far than satisfactory in most schools. For that reason, there is a need to go beyond
the ordinary classroom setting and try to make English a fun subject to learn. By so doing, hopefully
students will develop some interest and would be self-motivated to learn the subject and thus, makes
it easy on the part of the teacher to impart knowledge and skills in the language. English In Camp does
not have the answers to all the problems that the schools are facing pertaining to English. However, it
would be an alternative to all the English programmes that are currently running at school. With proper
understanding, positive attitudes and good planning it would spark a new era of English in all the schools.
Objectives:
i) To give ideas to English teachers to create a better English environment in school.
