To Whom It May Concern:

I am writing to express my interest in a teaching position. I have had several

years experience in education, creating curriculum, and working with students. I
have also had experience working with at-risk youth and young adults. I am
confident I would make valuable contributions to your school.

Education is very important to me. I earned my B.S. from Morgan State University.
I majored in Family and Consumer Sciences. I have a Maters degree in Education
from Cambridge College. My educational experiences introduced me to working in the
field of Family and Consumer Sciences, special education, and serving the
community.

I was a high school Family and Consumer Sciences teacher in The Virginia Beach
City Public Schools. I taught fashion merchandising, parenting, and child
development. I was responsible for planning the schools yearly fashion show. I was
an adviser for FCCLA for one year.

I taught Family and Consumer Sciences for two years in The Baltimore City Public
Schools. I was responsible for planning workshops, teenage pregnancy prevention,
fundraising, recruiting, budget management and event planning. I was also
responsible for organizing the food venue for the events. While teaching in
Baltimore I planned self- esteem workshops, domestic violence, and STD’s
workshops. I have a great passion for teaching.

During my matriculation at Morgan State University I was enrolled in classes such

as nutrition, scientific principal of food, child development, parenting, marriage
and family relations, and family resource management. I have taken graduate level
courses in special education, history of human services, classroom management,
reading comprehension, introduction to school counseling, counseling theory, human
services leadership, teaching methods and more.

I feel as if these courses help me when I am working with the different

personalities I encounter. I posses excellent interpersonal communication skills
and exceptional ability to perform critical analysis. Furthermore, I am passionate
about working with people.

Sincerely,

Consquilla T. Carey, M.Ed.
