Do you agree that music is (important 1) in our life? Yes I do,
music has certain role completing our day to day activities. Here
are some (reasons 2) why music is heard everywhere and
anywhere.
Music is a way to express feelings. When we fall in love, the kind
of music wed listen to would be all about love. When were sad,
we would go for music that is (melancholic 3) in nature and
immerse ourselves in the sadness. When were happy, wed
4

choose songs with happy (tunes 4) too.

Song can help to memorize the last experiences. A favorite song
is a powerful documentary. People with Alzheimer which are
(impaired 5) the brain would remember details about songs they
were (familiar 6) with. For example, an elderly woman who
couldnt even remember her husbands name would remember
the details of her favorite song; when it was played, how it made
her feel and things about the song that made it (especially 7)
memorable for her.
Further, music can unite people for a cause and changes the
world. A song with good lyric and (striking 8) deep chord can
(stimulate 9) the universal feeling of all people. We can see it in
the case of the famous and legendary Michael Jacson's Heal the
World. It can arouse (humanism 10) of a lot people in this world.
So what would the world be like without music? It would be
lonely.

: short answer
EVALUATION ON LISTENING
Rubbish

Lakes and rivers are often polluted because (drains 1) from towns and
factories empty into them. And factories sometimes dump very (harmful 2)
chemicals into the water. The (chemicals 3) poison the water. Wildlife
cannot easily survive in them.

Ocean-going tankers sometimes empty (tank4) of oily water into the

sea. When this happens, great patches of oil are left (floating 5) on the sea's
surface. If fish (swallow 6) the oil, or if their gills become clogged up, they
die. Birds land on the sea and the oil clogs up their 7 so that they cannot fly.
Unless the oil is cleaned off, the birds will die.
Electricity for your home is made in buildings called power plants.
Power plants usually use coal, oil, or gas to make electricity. But some plants
use (nuclear 8) energy.
To make nuclear energy, uranium is needed. And uranium is
radioactive, which means it gives off (rays 9) which is very dangerous to any
living thing. People working in nuclear power plants wear special clothing
and (masks 10) to protect themselves.
After the uranium has been used there is some dangerous waste, or
rubbish, left. Scientists haven't yet found out how to make the rubbish
completely safe. So it is sealed in huge concrete containers and buried at
sea, or deep underground.
Some people are worried that the radioactivity might escape and
poison living things. And this rubbish remains dangerous for thousands of
years.
In short, our environment has been contaminated by chemicals.
