Structure of this manual

This manual indicates step by step how to perform a
customisation. In situations when the texts and illustrations
concern uni-line products in the small box only, this is
indicated in the right corner by a symbol of the small box.
When the texts and illustrations concern uni-line products in
the big box only, this is indicated by a big box. No symbol
means that the information is valid for all the uni-line products.
When further information is necessary, we refer to an
appendix.

Please note that no voltage must be connected to the

measuring inputs of the relays during customising.

hin.
Bitte beachten Sie, da beim Umrsten keine Spannung an

Customisation of RMV relays

Umrstung von RMV Relais

The customisation of RMV relays varies according to the type

of three phase measurement to which the relay is connected.
If the relay is connected to a three phase network with neutral
(star connection), one voltage module is mounted. For star
connection the relay measures the voltage between phase
and neutral. For connection to a three phase networks without
neutral (delta connection), an extra voltage module is
mounted. The relay measures the voltage between two
phases. See appendix 1 RMV relays.

Siehe Anhang 1 RMV
Relais.

/UK/ Star connection: One module is mounted corresponding to

the required measuring voltage e.g. 230V, phase to neutral (~3 x
400V phase to phase, one 230 module is mounted.

/ D / Stern-Anschlu: Ein Spannungsmodul entsprechend der

gewnschten Mespannung z.b. 230V, Phase gegen Null (~3 x

/UK/ Mount the current module (corresponding to the calculated input
current) (e.g. measuring current 130A, external transformer 100/1A,
module 1.3A). If the input current does not correspond to a standard
module, the relay must be scaled (see appendix 2 RMC relays).

Anhang 2 RMC Relais).

Scaling

Skalierung

A scaling is performed when a standard current module

does not conform to IN. Connect the auxiliary voltage to
the terminals No. 1 and No. 3 of the relay. Note that
measuring voltages must not be connected to the relay
during scaling. You may mount an auxiliary voltage
module temporarily if the required auxilliary voltage is not
available.

Eine Skalierung wird ausgefhrt, wenn ein

Standardstrommodul nicht mit IN bereinstimmt. Hilfsspannung an die
Klemmen Nr. 1 und Nr. 3 des Relais anschlieen. Beachten,

Einphasennetzen.

The diagram illustrates customisation of RMV relays for connection to mains with
neutral conductor (star connection) and mains without neutral conductor (delta
connection). It also illustrates customisation of
RMV-142D designed for
measurement on one phase mains.

Anhang 3 RMP/RMQ Relais

The following diagrams are for definition of current and voltage modules in the above mentioned power relays.

The diagrams indicate the standard input power to which the

relays can be customised. Before the diagrams are read, the
Pn must be corrected with current transformer ratio and
maybe also by a voltage transformer ratio.

korrigiert.

Example: PN = 1 MW, current transformer 100/1A, voltage

transformer 10000/100V

Beispiel:

PN = 1 MW, Stromwandler 100/1A,

Spannungs-wandler 10000/100V

Input power = 1 MW divided by (CT ratio x VT ratio) = 100W

The calculated input power is indicated in the diagram
corresponding to the required coupling (1W3). The below
mentioned diagram shows possible couplings for the different
types of relays.

Appendix 4 LSU units

Anhang 4 LSU Gerte

Definition of current and voltage modules for the above

mentioned units.

genannten Ralais.

The internal load sharing unit measures the load by

multiplication of I in phase L1 with cos phi. The voltage
measurement takes place between phase L1 and phase
L2/neutral. The voltage module is selected according to the
phase to phase voltage or phase to neutral voltage. If an
external voltage transformer is applied, the voltage UN must
be corrected by voltage transformer ratio. To set the current
module the input current must be calculated.

L2/neutral
geschaltet.
Das
Spannungsmodul
wird
entsprechend der Dreieckspannung oder der PhasenNulleiter-Spannung
ausgewhlt.
Wird
ein
externer
Spannungswandler eingesetzt, mu die Spannung UN mit
dem Spannungswanderverhltnis korrigiert werden. Zur
Bestimmung des Strommoduls mu der Eingangsstrom
berechnet werden.

Example:

PN = 1 MW, voltage transformer 10000/100V,

current transformer 100/1A, cos-phi 0.8.
Voltage module = 100V
Input current = 1MW / 10000V x current
transformer ratio x 1.73 x 0.8 = 0.725A

Beispiel:

Mount a 0.8A current module. If the calculated value is not

available, the closest higher module is selected and the
scaling is performed (see scaling).

PN = 1 MW,
Spannungswandler 10000/100V,
Stromwandler 100/1A, cos-phi 0,8
Spannungsmodul = 100V
Eingangsstrom = 1MW / 10000V x
Stromwandlerverhltnis x 1,73 x 0,8 = 0,725A

Scaling of LSU units

Skalierung von LSU Gerten

Scaling is performed by multiplication of the internal reference

voltage of 10V of the relay with the following factor:

Types

Typen LSU-112DG, LSU-113DG, LSU-114DG,

LSU-122DG

LSU-112DG, LSU-113DG, LSU-114DG,

LSU-122DG

Iinput / Imodule
Example:

IEingang / IModul
Iinput = 0.725A and Imodule = 0.8A
Factor = 0.725 / 0.8 = 0.906
Corrected reference voltage =
10V x 0.906 = 9.06V

Beispiel:

IEingang = 0,725A und IModul = 0,8A

Faktor = 0,725 / 0,8 = 0,906
Korrigierte Referenzspannung =
10V x 0,906 = 9,06V
