I am pleased to write this recommendation letter for Emily Farrar. As her supervisor in
the role of communications and public relations intern, I was intimately acquainted with
her work.

Emily interned with Make-A-Wish for a semester during a period of great change at our
organization. She handled those situations with aplomb and maturity. Emily carries
herself with a professional demeanor, and has one of the best work ethics I've ever seen in
an intern. I never had to be concerned with how she might portray us on the phone or in
person with potential donors or the media.

Always ready for a challenge, Emily was quick to catch on to what needed to be done, and
often took initiative to start projects before they were assigned. This was incredibly
important as my role was changing and I needed someone with that kind of initiative
around me. She was a quick and accurate worker, and understood that there was an
approval process for writing projects. Emily was always open to constructive criticism,
though honestly, she rarely needed it. Her instincts were wonderful, and self-editing was
very good.

We thoroughly enjoyed having Emily in our office, and would highly recommend her for any
public relations and communications position! We would have hired her ourselves if we had
the budget to do so.
