TITLE: Brake Pedal Cover Installation

Subject
On eligible units, small stones or other road debris can become trapped between the
brake pedal and the rear master cylinder actuating rod. This can prevent full release of the rear
brake. Continuous activation of the rear brake can result in overheating, damage, rear wheel
lockup, or failure of the rear brake, creating the potential for a crash resulting in injury or death.

Initiate Campaign:
Kawasaki has initiated a Recall campaign to repair all eligible units. The repair consists
of installing a cover on the brake pedal.

Subject
On eligible units, the timing inspection caps on the starter clutch cover may come loose
due to improper tightening and fall out, allowing oil to leak onto the rear tire and creating the
potential for a crash resulting in injury or death.

Initiate Campaign:
Kawasaki has initiated a Recall campaign to repair all eligible units. The repair consists
of tightening the timing inspection caps.

TITLE: Muffler Mount Bolt Replacement

Subject
This Recall campaign replaces Recall MC 07-05 for eligible KL65OE8F/L models only.
On eligible units, the muffler mount bolts can become loose due to heat expansion of the
exhaust pipe and vibration, If the bolts loosen completely, it is possible for the muffler to
separate from the motorcycle creating the potential for a crash resulting in injury or death.

Initiate Campaign:
Kawasaki has initiated a Recall campaign to repair all eligible units. The repair consists
of removing the paint from the muffler mount tabs and replacing the mount bolts, nut, washer,
and gasket.

stop running creating the potential for a crash resulting in injury or death.

Initiate Campaign:
Kawasaki has initiated a Recall campaign to repair all eligible units. The repair consists
of reinforcing and rerouting the main harness and removing a clamp and a plate.

MC 09-05

MODEL: 2003-2008 GP1300R, 2005-2008 VX1100

TITLE: Throttle Cable Corrosion

Subject
There is a possibility that the outer throttle cable could corrode and become cracked or
kinked. If the outer cable is damaged in this way it could result in the inner cable to wear
improperly resulting in improper throttle movement. This could result in an accident or personal
injury to the operator and/or passenger.

Initiate Campaign:
To correct this defect, Yamaha is initiating a Factory Modification Campaign. Affected
watercraft must have the throttle cable replaced with one of the new material
M2009-002R

MODEL: 2006-2008 and Certain 2009 FJR1300A/AE

TITLE: Main Switch

Subject
The main ignition switch’s wire connection could overheat due to electrical resistance,
becoming hot enough to melt the solder connecting the wire to the main switch. The wire
could come off the switch if the solder melts, preventing the electrical system from functioning,
If this occurs while the motorcycle is being ridden, the engine would stall and be impossible to
restart which could result in an accident with injury or death.

Initiate Campaign:
To correct this defect, Yamaha is initiating a Factory Modification Campaign. Affected
motorcycles must have the main switch replaced with a new one designed to prevent
overheating.

M2009-020R

MODEL: 2008-2009 XV17PC

TITLE: Fuel Hoses

Subject

M2009-032R

MODEL: 2005 FZS600T, YZFR1T, AND FJR1300T

TITLE: Engine Idling
Subject
In affected motorcycles, an improperly designed Throttle Position Sensor could cause
an intermittently unstable idle. This could cause the engine to stall at low speed operation
possibly resulting in a crash or injury.

Initiate Campaign:
Yamaha is initiating a factory modification campaign. Unmodified affected motorcycles
must have the TPS replaced with a new one.
AT2010-003R

MODEL: 2008-2010 YFM5FG YFM7FG

TITLE: Steering Column

Subject
In affected ATVs, the steering column support assembly can crack near the mounting
area under certain riding conditions due to insufficient strength. This could result in reduced
steering ability which could cause loss of control and result in injury or death.

Initiate Campaign:
Yamaha is initiating a factory modification campaign. This campaign will replace the
original aluminum steering column support with a steal one that has increased strength.

SUZUKI
#2A08
MODEL: 2005 AND 2006 GSX-R1000 MOTORCYCLES
TITLE: Frame Reinforcement Brace Installation/Frame
Subject
Suzuki has received reports of cracking or breakage of the motorcycle frame in certain
extreme situations where unusually high stress is placed on the frame, such as collisions
involving the front wheel/fork assembly.

Suzuki has also received reports of cracking or breakage of the frame behind and below the
steering neck when the motorcycle is subjected to repeated hard landings from hazardous
maneuvers such as extreme or extended wheelies or other stunts. Suzuki believes that this
type of driving activity is reckless - and illegal when performed on a public roadway - and does
not condone it. If the frame becomes broken during this type of extreme use, a crash could
occur.

Initiate Campaign:
Dealers will inspect the relevant area of the frame for cracks. If no cracks are found,
a frame reinforcement brace will be attached to the frame using bolts and epoxy adhesive. The
brace is aluminum and very lightweight (less than 2 pounds). It is very slender and fits
underneath the top spar of the frame behind and below the steering neck. The appearance,
performance and handling of the motorcycle remain unchanged with the reinforcement brace
installed. Should cracks be found during the inspection, the frame will be replaced with a new
frame that has the reinforcement brace installed.

Can-Am
2009-2

MODEL: 2008-2009 Can-Am DS 90 X

TITLE: Can-Am DS90 X Tether Engine Shutoff Switch

Subject
Engine may fail to shut off when pulling the cord from the accessory tether engine
shutoff switch post installed on these race-ready vehicles. If this occurs in situations where the
rider is ejected, the vehicle may run away uncontrolled until the engine gets back to idle. This
may lead to a collision of the vehicle with bystanders, a fixed object or other vehicles,
potentially resulting in serious injuries and/or death

Initiate Campaign:
Remove the tether engine shutoff switch assembly along with its cord.

handlebar. This may cause an over steering situation resulting in a possible loss of control.

Initiate Campaign:
BRP will update the dynamic power steering software.
2010-1

MODEL: 2010 ATVs with Dynamic Power Steering

TITLE: Steering Software Update
Subject
An electrical short-circuit to ground of the DPS may occur. This could cause the vehicle
to suddenly steering left on its own potentially causing serious injury.

Initiate Campaign:
BRP will provide software to detect any short circuits. If this circuit is found to be shorted
a repair will be instituted.

2010-2

MODEL: 2010 Spyder RT, SM5, SE5

TITLE: Ignition Switch Connector

Subject
During use the rear brake caliper carrier support could crack and or the front brake
master cylinder plunger (piston) may not return properly; this could result in the potential for a
loss of the use of the rear brake or front brake and subsequently lead to an accident which
could cause injury or death to the rider or others.

Initiate Campaign:
A newly designed rear brake caliper carrier support and rear brake caliper support plate
will be installed.
