What are the necessary skills, knowledge and attitude an ERP manager should

have?
An ERP Manager must have the ability to exercise overall day-to-day control of project
leaders and the resources of the program, balancing the needs for program success
with the skills and capabilities of the staff. He should also be a good communicator and
must interact regularly and comfortably across various departments -- from individual to
the ERP Management Team level in order to negotiate solutions that foster strong
relationships and continued success of the project.
The ERP Manager is responsible for the development of an effective planning process,
for the creation of an integrated project schedule that encompasses all aspects for the
ERP Program and for the actual execution in conformance to plans and the continuing
update and adjustment of plans and execution to fit changing circumstances.
Implement and lead an effective project change management process that pro-actively
identifies project changes and incorporates an appropriate impact analysis and approval
for such changes across the ERP program team. He is responsible for creating and
maintaining a monthly financial management process that incorporates actual financial
performance to forecasted performance and justifies all variances; accurately forecasts
expenditures in alignment with the project budget and supports the budgeting process
throughout the project lifecycle. He also must follow the company's financial processes
and policies.
Actively directs the development and maintenance of plans, practices and assignments
to identify, quantify and contain the occurrence and potential impact of risks and risk
events on the execution of a program and its likelihood of success.
An ERP Manager is responsible for making timely, effective decision at the project level
and communicating those decisions both up and down the program structure, while
approaching needed decisions in a logical and thoughtful manner and weighing
conflicting information.
Leadership quality including the ability to motivate, inspire, counsel and facilitate
individuals and teams to take responsibility and accountability for the goals will be an
added advantage.
Position Overview
As Project Manager, manage project lifecycle implementations to a high level of quality and customer satisfaction,
through the use of Columbus methodology, ensuring the delivery of an end product capable of achieving the agreed
and defined business requirements and entered agreements in a profitable manner.
Duties & Responsibilities

Provide Project Management Leadership to go-live, upgrade or major enhancement projects (where a CIT
project management budget has been included as part of the as-sold project scope)

For all assigned projects, ensure Project Management planning and status review processes are completed
with regularity each week or at a minimum every other week and PM deliverables are keep current

Provide PM leadership to keep projects on-budget and on-time

Ensure Project Team follows CIT Methodology and is producing deliverables to standards and on schedule

Participate in Weekly Resource Planning with other PMs and RDs to get resources assigned to project tasks
in a manner which efficiently uses available professional services staff

Act as customer advocate

Review and understand the contractual terms and scope of assigned projects (via Sales Handover Meeting
with Sales and RD)

Conduct both an Internal Project Kickoff meeting and a Client Project Kickoff meeting

Review Key Deliverables to assure scope and budget remain aligned

Hold Weekly status meetings and create progress / issues report

Maintain the Project Plan (Excel Workbook or MS Project)

Ensure Tasks, Time and Expense entry is being completed in CIT-TMS (Axapta) system. Review invoices
prior to being sent to client.

Act as the day to day primary point of contact with Client Project Manager regarding project status and
issue resolution

Credentials & Experience

2 years project management experience in an ERP environment, including the management of budget,
risks, resources, scope, issues, changes and quality

Thorough knowledge of all major project management activities, including risk assessments

Ability to align project deliverables and customer expectations

Coaching and/or mentoring experience

Presentation skills

Knowledge & Skill Requirements

Ability to understand, communicate, and interpret client business processes and requirements

Ability to thrive in a virtual, collaborative organization and atmosphere

Organizational skills with the ability to balance multiple demands

Proven ability to write effective system and process documentation - including business and system
requirements, process diagrams, and detailed data requirements

Effective time management skills

Fluent in English - written and verbal

Knowledge of ERP systems as they relate to effective and efficient business processes

Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of an organization
