Video Competition for Secondary Schools

A collaborative effort by:

Organiser & Eligibility
1. This CyberSAFE in Schools Video Competition ["Campaign"] is organised by
Kementerian Pendidikan Malaysia, CyberSecurity Malaysia and Digi ["the Organiser"]
and is open to all Malaysian Secondary Students with either a valid MyKad or
Passport number, and a valid residential address in Malaysia, aged 13 to 18 years as
of 1 January 2015.
2. Students can submit as an individual participant or as a group participant (no more
than 4 pax).
3. The following group of persons shall not be eligible to participate in this Campaign:
a. Employees of the Organiser [including its affiliated and related companies]
and their immediate family members [children, parents, brothers and
sisters, including spouses].

Duration
1. This Campaign will run from 7 August 2015 at "12:00:01" to 31 August 2015 at
"12:00:00" ["the Campaign Period"].
The Organiser reserves the right to amend the Campaign Period at any time. All
entries received outside the Campaign Period will not be considered for the prizes.

Submission of Entries & Qualifying Criteria


1. The video competition is to create a short, fun, impactful and educational video on
the topic of Internet Safety and Resiliency. For an examples, please refer to;
CyberSAFE in Schools Series#1 - Cyber-bullying (BM)
CyberSAFE in Schools Series#2 - Cyber-stalking (BM)
CyberSAFE in Schools Series#3 - Cyber grooming (BM)

2. To participate in this Campaign, participants are required to submit your


scripts/video via email at https://digi.cybersafe.my/videocontest ("Website").
If participants did not receive an acknowledgement receipt within 24 hours, kindly
resend your script/ video to cr@digi.com.my and complete the following steps:
i.

Participants are required to come out with either a script and/or act out in
the script in a video on this topic - Internet Safety and Resiliency;

ii.

All scripts/ videos should be only 2 - 5 minutes max;

iii.

All video entries can be filmed and edited on any device (eg,smartphone)
capable of recording high-quality video resolutions and can include
animations and musical numbers.

iv.

To have a definition at the beginning and solution at the end; (refer


examples)

v.

Scripts should be as realistic as possible, funny, heart-warming, up to


creativity;

vi.

To use the existing cast (4-5 ppl) Cikgu Roslan, Lisa, Bob, Sheila;

vii.

This Campaign is open to all secondary school students nationwide during


this Campaign period;

viii.

This campaign is to create further awareness on internet safety amongst


Malaysian schoolchildren;

ix.

The submissions will then be judged by our internal panel of judges;

x.

Two (2) winners will be selected by their most creative script/ video;

3. Entries submitted should not contain materials that may be deemed, at the
Organiser's sole discretion, as defamatory, obscene, offensive or inappropriate.
4. Two [2] winners will be chosen after the end of the Campaign period. The winning
entries will be judged based on creativity, relevance and impact of the submitted
entry.
5. Each participant may submit more than one [1] entry.
6. Sending an e-mail is not proof that we have received your entry. No responsibility
can be accepted for entries that are lost or delayed, or which are not received for
any reason.
7. No proof of purchase is required for participation in this Campaign.

Prizes
1. There will be only two (2) prizes to be won. Each winner will receive the following
Prizes ["Prizes"]:
i.

One (1) grand prize winner will receive cash prize amount of RM2,000 only.

ii.

One (1) 2nd Prize winner will receive cash prize amount of RM1,000 only.

iii.

The grand prize winner and/or the 2nd Prize winner will also get the
opportunity to travel to Digis Headquarters in Shah Alam to experience and
participate (as cameo roles) in the professional production of the winning
scripts/videos by professional actors, should the Organiser choose to
proceed with producing the winning videos.

2. All decisions by Digi, including but not limited to the forfeiture of Prizes are final,
conclusive and binding. No correspondence or claims shall be entertained.

Prizes Redemption
1. Winners will be notified by e-mail and will be announced during the CyberSecurity
National ICT Security Discourse (NICTSED) on 8th September, 2015 at the Royale
Chulan Hotel Kuala Lumpur. The Organiser shall not be held liable in the event the
winner(s) cannot be contacted for whatever reasons after at least three [3] attempts
by the Organiser or its agents to contact the winners. All prizes must be claimed
within the stipulated time from 8 September 2015 to 30 September 2015. All
unclaimed prizes will be forfeited. The Organiser will not be held liable in the event
of non-receipt or delayed delivery of the postal notification to the winner[s].
2. In the event an entry is found to be ineligible at any point of time, the Organiser
reserves the right to disqualify the said entry and to cancel/ withdraw/ recall the
Prizes from being delivered to the ineligible Member.
3. Participants will be contacted to arrange the collection of their prizes.
4. The Organiser shall reserve the right at its absolute discretion to substitute any of
the prizes with that of similar value, at any time without prior notice. The values of
the prizes are correct at the time of printing.
5. All winners must abide by the terms and conditions of the parties arranging and/or
providing for the prizes and the terms and conditions attached to the prizes, if any.

Judging Criteria
1. Judging on submissions will be based on creativity and suitability on the participants
entries according to the theme given for this competition Internet Safety and
Resiliency.
2. The judges decision will be final, and no correspondence will be entered into.

Liability & Responsibility


1. Winners shall assume full liability and responsibility in case of any liability, mishap,
injury, damage, claim or accidents (including death) resulting from their
participation in this Campaign, redemption and/or utilisation of the prizes. The
Organiser shall not be responsible for any liability, mishap, loss, damage, claim or
accident (including death) in any manner whatsoever.

2. All recording, transportation, accommodation, personal costs and/or any other


costs, fees and/or other expenses that are incurred to participate in this Campaign
and to redeem the prize is the sole responsibility of the participant.
3. The Organiser is not responsible for any error, omission, interruption, deletion,
defect, delay in operation or transmission, communications line failure, theft or
destruction, unauthorized access to, or alteration of, user or member
communications, or any problems or technical malfunction of any telephone
network or lines, computer online systems, servers or providers, computer
equipment, software, failure of e-mail or players on account of technical problems
or traffic congestion on the Internet and/or websites.
4. Participants also agree that the Organiser is not responsible nor liable for any delay,
injury or damage to the participant's and/or any third party's computer, computer
system or apparatus relating to or resulting from the access to, participation in this
Campaign, including the playing, downloading of any materials or information from
the Website and in connection with this Campaign, submission/uploading of the
script or video for this Campaign, including without limitation any server failure, lost,
delayed or corrupted data or other malfunction.
5. The Organiser reserves the right to use the pictures, text or captions of the Entries in
any medium for publicity, advertising, press releases, press conferences and/or
trade without notice and/or compensation whatsoever.
6. The Website is provided on an "as-is" basis and, except as otherwise prohibited by
applicable law, the Organiser expressly disclaim any warranty of any kind, including,
but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and
non- infringement. The Organiser cannot guarantee and do not promise any specific
results from use of the Website. No advice or information, whether oral or written,
obtained by you from us, or from or through the Website shall create any warranty
not expressly stated herein.
7. The Organiser shall not be held liable or responsible for any delay and/or failure in
the receipt of entry due to the inability of the respective Internet Service Provider
[ISP] company and/or telecommunication network to provide timely and/or efficient
internet and/or telecommunication services.

Rights of the Organiser


1. By submitting your entries for this Campaign, all participants agree and acknowledge
that all intellectual property rights, including the script and the video submissions
thereto shall belong to the Organiser. The Organiser shall have the exclusive right to
use, edit, modify and publish the entry submitted by all the participants, publish the
names of the participants, in any way it deems fit for any advertising, trade,
promotional purpose and for any other reason whatsoever, without any further
notice to the participants and the participants shall not claim ownership or any

payment or compensation on the materials. For the avoidance of doubt, the


submissions will not be edited for judging purposes.
2. The Organiser reserves the right to modify, suspend or cancel this Campaign in the
event that it becomes not capable of running as planned, technically interfered or
corrupted, including but not limited to infection by computer virus, bugs, tampering,
unauthorised intervention, fraud, technical failures, or any other causes beyond the
control of the Organiser, despite the best efforts of the Organiser.
3. The Organiser reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to disqualify any participant
that is found or suspected of tampering with the Campaign submission process, the
operation of this Campaign or to be in violation of the Conditions of Access of the
Website. The Organiser reserves the right to terminate the Website member
account of any person who it reasonably suspects has violated or infringed any of
these general terms and conditions and the Organiser reserves the right to pursue
legal action against any individual it believes has undertaken fraudulent activities or
other activities harmful to this online Campaign, the Campaign submission process
and/or the Website.

Other Terms & Conditions


1. All entries submitted must be original and shall not breach any intellectual property
rights belonging to any party. The participants shall not pose, distribute, reproduce
or submit in any way whatsoever, any materials containing any other party's
intellectual property rights, including but not limited to copyrights, or other
proprietary information owned by another party without obtaining the prior written
consent of the owner of such intellectual property rights or proprietary information.
If you believe that your work has been copied and posted in a way that constitutes
an intellectual property infringement, please contact the Organiser.
2. The Organiser, in its sole discretion, reserves the right to modify this Rules &
Regulations without any prior notice, if required for the smooth running of the
Campaign.
3. This Rules & Regulations are prepared in English only.
4. The Judges' decisions are final and no correspondence thereon will be entertained.
5. By participating in this Campaign, participants agree to be bound by this Campaign
Rules & Regulations, and the decisions of the Organiser.
6. By participating in this Campaign, the competition winners agrees to participate in
such promotional activity and material as the Organiser may require.

Prohibited Content

1. Below is a partial list of content that is illegal or prohibited to be posted on the


Website. Posting of any of this content by the participant may, in the Organiser's
sole discretion, result in termination of membership in addition to the
disqualification of participation. In addition, the Organiser reserves the right to
investigate and take appropriate legal action, in its sole discretion, against anyone
who violates this provision, including without limitation, removing the offending
communication from the Website and reporting such violators to the appropriate
legal authorities. Prohibited content includes, but is not limited to, contents which,
in the Organiser's sole judgment:o

is offensive to the online community, such as content that promotes racism,


politically religious agendas, inflammatory religious content, violence, foul
language, bigotry, hatred or physical harm of any kind against any group or
individual;

include ingredients that are offensive to other religious practices;

harasses or advocates harassment of another person;

includes any information that [1] the participant knows is false or


misleading, [2] promotes illegal activities or conduct that is abusive, or [3] is
threatening, obscene, defamatory, or libellous;

constitutes or includes any illegal or unauthorized copy of another person's


copyrighted or copyrightable work, including, but not limited to, [1] pirated
computer programs or links to them, [2] information which circumvents
manufacturer-installed copy-protect devices, [3] pirated music or links to
pirated music files;

displays obscene, pornographic or sexually explicit material of any kind;

includes material that exploits people in a sexual or violent manner;

includes material showing or depicting any offensive or violent acts whether


involving other person or persons or animal or not;

provides instructional information about illegal activities such as making or


buying illegal weapons, violating someone's privacy, or providing or creating
computer viruses; and

exhibits overtly dangerous or potentially life threatening situations.
