Einfhrung
1 Einfhrung
B. in sehr staubiger Umgebung

Introduction
4 Introduction
This manual describes the ways in which various Schenck devices can be configured
via Bluetooth. Wireless parameterization and diagnosis can be performed whenever
the devices are located in i.e. very dusty environments and cannot be opened for
service and diagnosis as desired. The Bluetooth connection supplants the
conventional RS232 cable connection. In practice, both methods have a similar range.
The DISOCONT service bus can also be supplanted by a wireless connection.
All of the components selected are easy to use, are robustly housed for use in industry
and require a minimum of effort to install and establish a connection.
The manual is directed towards those personnel responsible for commissioning and
maintenance and describes the steps required to establish a connection with the
particular device used.
It will be presumed that readers of this manual are already familiar with the devices
named and also with EasyServe and DISOPLAN.
5.1 On the PC
5.1.1 Hardware
A USB stick is plugged into the PC. The USB stick is very easy to handle and
its design suits it ideally to mobile applications. The model shown was used for test
purposes. It has proven successful and will form the basis of the instructions in this
manual. Other USB sticks may also be used if they posses the following properties:

5.1.2 Software
5.1.2.1 Installation
The installation instructions accompanying the USB stick explain all of the basic steps
to be taken. A detailed description can be found on the CD. Further information and
downloads can be found under http://www.avm.de/de/Download/index.php3.
5.1.2.2 Interfaces
Once the PC software has been successfully installed, the USB stick's virtual COM
port must be determined. As shown here for the operating system Windows 2000, this
can be done under My Computer - Control Panel - COM Ports. The interface number
shown here must be set in the respective configuration program (EasyServe or
DISOPLAN) before a connection can be established.

Click on the wireless connection icon in the Windows system tray (below right) to
display the software version in use.
As shown in the sample menu below, you can also start all of the other important
functions from here directly. A detailed description can be found in chapter 3.

5.2.2 Software
The Schenck devices require no special version of the software. The
parameterization on several models corresponds to the serial configuration
connection in the standard setup described above; with all others the
parameterization must be adapted before a connection is established (see chapter
3).
The configuration tools can be used from the following software versions onwards:
EasyServe: Can be used without restrictions from version 11 onwards.
Earlier versions can cause problems when transmitting the baud rate to the
Bluetooth module. Remedy: start the "Search for Scales" dialog window
twice under EXTRAS-OPTIONS-COMMUNICATION.
DISOPLAN: DISOPLAN from version 2 onwards (DISOPLAN-DISOBOX),
DISOPLAN B plus all versions without restrictions.
