General Information
Each student must choose one topic of the Strategic Knowledge Management (KM) from
the following list and suggest a real company in Indonesia for KM implementation as a
case study. The topic and case study should be approved by the lecturer through
Discussion Forum. No topic and case study is permitted to be taken by more than 1
student. The topic can be chosen by more 1 student but the real company has to be
different or vice versa.

This topic with a case study will be used as Personal Assignment that you have to
prepare in Assignment 1, 2, 3 and 4.

1) Students submit selected KM topic with a real company as a case study and make the
explanation of why choose this topic and case study.
REPOSITORIES AND KNOWLEDGE SERVICES IN PT BANK KEB HANA
INDONESIA
In this Globalization era a company needs to rely on Information Technology to support its
operational activities. To survive, a company needs to increase its competitiveness, thus need

to do innovations. Before ongoing the path to pursue innovation, a company needs to take
care one of its most important resources first: Knowledge.
Knowledge according Djoko Santoso (2009) is one of the most important resources. Studies
regarding knowledge utilization and management needs in one institution needs to be taken
care by its own management.
These days, companys habit to note, record and implement its knowledge has encouraged
competitions, innovations, and efforts to provide added value in their products or services. In
the end, knowledge is one of deciding factors for company success in the future.
KEB Hana Bank is one Globalize Bank of Korea, which has focused at banking services in
the commercial and consumer segments are committed to contribute to the Indonesian
economy for the sake of being "The Best Customer Focused Bank" in Indonesia.
PT Bank KEB Hana Indonesia (KEB Hana Bank), the Bank resulting from the merger
between PT Bank Hana with PT Bank KEB Indonesia, Based on the Decree of the Board of
Commissioners of the Financial Services Authority (FSA SK) No. S-13 / PB.12 / 2014 dated
February 11, 2014 and the FSA Decree No.13 / KDK.03 / 2014 dated June 27, 2014.
Started the business in Indonesia in 2007 under the name of PT Bank Hana after acquiring
PT Bank Bintang Manunggal, which at that time had total assets of Rp 300 billion. KEB
Hana Bank has managed to increase its assets to $ 22 trillion at the end of December 2014.
Explanation of why choose this topic:
Knowledge repository is a central location to search and access information from various
sources such as the Internet, corporate intranets, databases and files storage system, which
efficiently and quickly distribute information.
Currently the application repository owned PT Bank KEB Hana only limited to how to store
information like banking product, terms condition, memo, project and how that information
fulfill for audit internal and external as the regulator order to every bank purpose.
I was interesting to utilize existing information in the repository so that it can be used for all
employees so that employees are not confused when there are certain cases. The point is to
utilize existing repository, and optimize the existing repository so that all information can be
optimized for the company's values.
2) Students write the understanding and a short review about the topic and implementation of
KM in the real company as a case study related to the topic.

All data on bank products all of the source of knowledge is stored and documented along
with the application. The example the internet banking channel there is information that can
access easily by everyone, the purpose of knowledge will give you the ease to every
employee to use it, so the process of utilization of knowledge in a corporate environment will
increase, and the company will be able to save time and costs, the last is existing knowledge
can be reused for new processes or products that will be developed, so that the productivity
of the company will increase.
The other example is on project point of view. Previously, projects in PT Bank KEB Hana
Indonesia were all done by a closed group. Starting from Project proposals until project
completion, all information are kept within a closed group.
In order to ensure that these projects are favorable towards the company and to keep the
knowledge in a project so it can be used in other next projects, management in PT Bank
KEB Hana Indonesia decided to create a knowledge management repository for projects.
This lead to an investment by Business Development department in cooperation with IT
department to create an open, standardized and neatly archived Project Management
Repository.
