InternetExplorer11canbeusedin"DesktopMode"onWindows8.1.RunningIE11fromthe
"Modern"(Metro)StartScreenisnotcertified.
DuetodisplayissueswithcertainFWKpageswhenusingIE9orIE10wepreviouslyrecommended
runningEBusinessSuiteusingthebrowsers'compatibilitymode'.Thesedisplayissueshavenowbeen
fixedforIE11youcannowaccessyourEBusinessSuite12.xenvironmentswithoutusing
'compatibilitymode'inIE11.
IE11includesan"EnterpriseMode"whichcanbeusedtoemulatedInternetExplorer8behaviourand
providecompatibilitywithearlierbrowserstandards.Youshouldnotuse"EnterpriseMode"withOracle
EBusinessSuite.EBScompatibilitywithIE11requiresserversidepatches.Enabling"Enterprise
Mode"inIE11isnotneededandwillnotresolveallcompatibilityissues.

FromJRE1.7.0_10andlaterupdatesontheJRE7codeline
FromJRE1.8.0_25andlaterupdatesontheJRE8codeline
YoudonotneedtowaitforacertificationannouncementbeforeapplyingnewJRE1.6orJRE7releases
toyourEBSusers'desktops.WetestallnewJREreleasesinparallelwiththeJREdevelopmentprocess,
soallnewJREreleasesareconsideredcertifiedwiththeEBusinessSuiteonthesamedaythatthey're
releasedbyourJavateam.
YoudonotneedtowaitforacertificationannouncementbeforeapplyingnewJRE6,7,or8releasesto
yourEBSusers'desktops.
"JInitiatorversiontoolow"errors
SomenonOraclestaffareclaimingthat"JInitiatorversiontoolow"errorsconfirmthisincompatibility
andlackofcertification.
Infact,ifyou'regettinga"JInitiatorversiontoolow"error,itmeansthatyou'vemissedapplyingthe
FormspatchrequiredtoenableJRE1.7compatibility.SimplyapplythatpatchandyourEBS
environmentisreadyforJRE1.7clients.
CertificationswithEBS11istillpending
WeplantocertifyIE11withEBS11i.Thiscertificationusunderwaynowandwillbereleasedsoon.
Ifyou'rerunningEBS11i,youmustensurethatyourmissioncriticaldesktopsremainonanearlier
certifiedbrowsersuntilthiscertificationiscompleted.Asofthetimethisarticlewaspublished,certified
browsersincludeIE10andFirefoxESR31forWindowsdesktops.

updatedwiththisinformation?WewerewatchingthatarticleeverymonthtoseeifIE11hasbeen
certifiedwithalloftheEBSversions.Leavingthatarticleasitisnowismisleadingandcontradictsthis
