Dream Eight.

Forced Marking.

I was still thinking about the device in the head as

I fell asleep this night. The entity came as usual
and took me back to Washington DC. I was looking
in on a meeting over the internet. The popularity of
the brain implants, the applications were being
reviewed, and further applications were discussed.
The financial ministers said that the identification
system was good enough to prevent identity theft,
and it was far better and much more resistant to
spoofing than any other method of identification.
But the system had to be deployed worldwide and
replace all other methods.
The propaganda ministers agreed and said that
once in the head, the device would prevent dissent
and give the people a love for the leader that was
more like worship. They would work with the
entertainment industry to insure that only positive
political inputs would ever get on the network.
The legal departments saw the advantages of the
GPS tracker, and the mind reading portion so that
crimes could prevented while the bad guys were
still planning them. As in "Minority Report".
The religious ministers loved the idea of beaming
their messages, with all the feelings they wanted,
directly into the minds of their flock.

The problem was that some Christians feared the

device, based on a Biblical prophecy, calling it the
“mark of the beast”. Others did not want anything
in their heads, no matter what great things that it
could do. People still liked paper, coins,

computers, cell phones, and televisions. Getting

them to change would be a struggle. The benefits
of the device were so great, that mandatory
implantation was suggested.

The educational campaign was similar to the

change to digital television. Subsidies were given,
deadlines were established. Free implantation
began. People lined up as if it was the hottest toy
or cell phone, and it was being given away free,
and also the network costs were being waived.

The other forms of identification were labeled

worthless. All cards, forms, monies, code numbers,
scanning devices, and personal databases were
vulnerable to identity theft, spoofing, and fraud, so
they were considered counterfeit / obsolete after a
set date, like analog TV.

These plans got about 75% acceptances with little

opposition. Now what do you do to get 100%
compliance?
First the laws were changed to prevent commerce
with the old methods. No one could buy or sell, be
employed, access money, get pensions, or pay bills
without using the verifiable URL address. All
electronic commerce had to have this URL
address. An address was three sets of six
hexadecimal numbers. It was nicknamed the
“666”. That was an ominous number from the past.

Then there was “the mark”. An embedded chip in

your head could be read by scanners, but not
everyone had a scanner. And the chip was invisible
in the head. The URL could be tattooed on a person
and then typed into any mobile terminal for

verification and identification. Each person with a

chip was also to have a tattoo on their hand or
forehead.
Anyone with a cell phone camera could send in an
image of the mark and get an approval. The image
was sent through the network and vital
identification data was returned so you knew who
you were dealing with. If there was a problem a
brain implant scan would be done by someone with
the more complex scanning equipment.

The holdouts fled, went underground, or tried to

use fake tattoos. They could have been rounded up
and forced to be implanted. But if they were
forcibly implanted they would disrupt the network
and endeavor to subvert the flow of ideas.
Dissenters forced to be implanted was not what
the leader wanted, so a choice was to be made.
Freely accept this implant or starve, be socially
isolated, or end up in a concentration camp to be
“reeducated”. This was a little more subtle than
grabbing someone, knocking them out and when
they woke up they had a chip in their head.

A bounty was placed on those who were

unmarked. Bounty hunters or their friends and
family would rat them out and collect electronic
credits. The police would catch the unmarked and
give them the choice. Get an implant or go to a
concentration camp.

The unmarked included Christians, religious

fanatics, criminals, survivalists, malcontents,
dissidents, the fearful, and intellectuals who
preferred the old methods of communication. Many
bribes were passed and less developed areas saw

an influx of these electronic refugees. An

underground railway was set up. But the bounty
hunters hunted these people down like the Nazis
hunted down Jews during WWII.

Soon the concentration camps were full. New ones

were built, and the entire world started to
resemble Nazi Germany.

The “reeducation” was torture, similar to the

methods used on terrorists by the CIA during the
years after 9/11/01. If that did not work harsher
methods would follow.

I woke up with images of Auschwitz in my mind.

This whole dream thing was getting to be a
torture. I wrote my remembrances down but could
not get back to sleep.

Dream 9. Sacrifice.
