numbers one to ten. T puts the flashcards on

she takes down the flashcards, shuffles them,
and holds them up one at a time for children
to say the number. T gives out the flashcards
to different children around the class. T asks
the class to count together from one to ten.

Teacher asks children to open their Class

Book on page 6 (she writes this number on
the board). She invites children to look at the
picture. She explains that each child is one
year older than the next and that all children
have their ages written above them.
She plays the first part of the recording for
children to listen and point to the pictures as
they hear the ages.
Secondly- they listen and repeat.
She plays the recording all the way through
for children listens and then repeats.
She points to different people in the pictures
and asks individual children to say the
numbers.
Pupils write the numbers into their notebook.
Teacher asks children to look at the pictures
again and tell her the number. She explains
them how to ask and answer about their ages.
How old are you? Most of them might have
problem to pronounce it correct and she
repeats it more times. She points and says:
''Look, He's six.'' Look, she's eight.''
Then she shows on the pictures and asks
about ages for each individual person.
Before she plays the recording, she explains
that they are going to hear some of the
children talking about their age but not all.
They must tick the children they hear.
Pausing after first dialogue, shoe children the
picture of the boy above the number 7 in the
picture and show them tick in the box.
She plays the recording again for children to
complete or check their answers.
Check the answers by asking children which
ages they heard.

again. Then she asks them to work in pairs
and practise short dialogue from exercise 1.
How old are you? They give the answer as
they are the child from the picture.
