1 GENERIC
--------This tool can edit an ID cord (USB serial number) and the ID Name of the
TM printer series.
ID cord (USB serial number)
Windows system uses it for identification every printer.
When you replace a broken printer with a new printer,
you don't have to change port setting of the application and driver,
if you set the same ID cord to a new printer.
ID Name
A user can register a ID name for a management purpose freely.
Driver port setting comes to be easily possible, if you register ID name.

3 HOW TO USE
-----------1) Connect a TM printer to your PC.
2) Power on the TM printer
Turn on the TM printer. If it is the first time you have attached a
TM printer, Windows invokes the TMUSB device driver or USB Print class

driver.
Please refer the documentation for TMUSB device driver if you need to know
how to install adevice driver.
USB Print class driver for TM-C3400 is preinstalled in OS.
3) Check the printer status
Please make sure that the TM printer is not reporting any error.
4) Launch the TMUSBID.exe
Please exit all application for TM printer.
Administrator privileges are required to install TMCOMUSB. For Windows 2000
/XP/Server 2003, log in as a user with administrator privileges.
For Windows Vista, it is necessary to upgrade the user status to
administrator privileges when the UAC (User Account Control) dialog box
appears.
TMUSBID.exe stop print spooler. you cannot print by other printer.
5) Input the ID code
Input the ID code to the ID code field of the utility. If you click the
"now" button, the ID code calculated by current time is entered
to the ID code field.
(You may input a blank ID code.)
6) Input the ID name
7) Write
Click the write button. If both the ID code and ID name are written
correctly.
8) EXIT
Click the exit button to exit this utility.
9) Please turn OFF of a power supply of TM-C3400.
and you connect target PC, and turn ON of a power supply of TM-C3400.
4 HOW TO USE by Command Prompt
-----------------------------Case 1) Set USB serial number
>TMUSBID /s <USB Serial Number> <Model Name>
Case 2) Confirm USB serial number
>TMUSBID /c <USB Serial Number> <Model Name>
* In the case of UB-Uxx, you appoint a name of UB-Uxx(ex."EPSON UB-U02III") in
the model name of the parameter.
* You can omit the model name.
When you omit a model name, TMUSBID tool is connected to the firstly found T
M printer.

5 NOTICE
-------+ This utility is a bilingual (English and Japanese) application.
A device except TM-C3400 and TM-C610
+ The ID code and ID name are limited to alphanumeric characters.
+ The ID code and ID name can be a maximum of 80 characters each.
TM-C3400, TM-C610
+ You cannot edit "ID name".
+ You cannot use the "TestPrint" function.
+ The ID code is limited to alphanumeric characters of 0123456789ABCDEF.
+ The ID code can be a maximum of 80 characters each.
+ You cannot connect the plural printers which you set on the same
ID cord (USB serial number) to one PC at the same time.
+ A system recognizes that another new printer was connected
when you change an ID cord.
There is the case that the setting change of the port of the application
and driver on this system is necessary.
+ When you use the Windows Vista 64bit environment, there is a case to take
about 20 seconds in the recognition of the device.
Please push the Find button after waiting for about 20 seconds.
5 RESTRICTION
------------+ With TM-J9000, default printing paper is validation. So, you need to
insert a paper when you press a print button.
+ With TM-S1000/TM-C100, you cannot test printting.
+ With TM-C3400, you cannot test printting.
