MASS INTENTIONS FAREWELL BLESSING
SUNDAY, MAY 16, 2010 In the Hebrew scriptures the “farewell bless-

FROM FATHER RICH
WHAT IS HEAVEN LIKE
There was an old man on the isle of Crete and during his lifetime he loved this land the most. He loved
the very ground he walked on, worked, and fought for. When it was time for him to die he had his sons
bring him outside his stone cottage and lay him on the hard earth. He reached down, grabbed handful of
Crete’s soil and was gone.
He arrived at the gates of heaven and the Lord came and said to him, “ Old man, come in” . As the old
man moved towards the gates the Lord noticed something in his hand and said, “What are you clutching in
your hand?”. He said, “It is Crete. I go nowhere without it”. The Lord said, “The gates only open for those
with open hands. Leave it, or you will not be allowed in”. The old man held his clenched fist up and said,
“Never!”. And he went and sat beside the outside wall of the heavenly city. The old man thought about
what the Lord said and after week finally stood up, and did not even look as his hand opened and the crum-
bled dirt of Crete fell through the sky. The gates swung open and he walked in. Inside was all of Crete.
Now don’t built a theology on this story for that is what it is - a story that illustrates a point that many of
us must be reminded of now and then. There is nothing here that is worth missing heaven in order to keep.
Many people hope to be elected to heaven who are not even running for the office.
We continue praying for all mothers by celebrating Mother’s day Novena last week and for two more
days. We want to thank Pro-Life group for selling flowers, all music groups for playing and singing, our
school children, especially first communicants and graduates for beautiful May Crowning ceremony and all
who made the Mother’s Day very special celebration in our parish.
As you noticed, the statue of Our Blessed Mother was restored and we encourage you to continue your
special devotion to Mary, but please avoid shaking her fragile hands. We thank anonymous donors for the
donation to cover the cost of the restoration and if there is anyone who would like to make a contribution, it
will be appreciated.
We congratulate again all our First Communicants, their parents, and we thank the teachers and cate-
chists for preparing their hearts to receive Jesus. Please, pray for our graduates who are preparing for
graduation on Friday, May 28. The school year is coming to the end therefore we look forward to the next
one and we remind you about ongoing registration for our school and CCD program. I want to thank all our
parishioners and those who support our school by participating in all school fundraisers. One of them is the
Parish Carnival which is scheduled this year for August 26-29. Please save the date. The raffle tickets will
be sent to you soon and we thank you in advance for your generosity and support.
God Bless! Fr. Rich

OD KS. RYSZARDA
Biskup Fulton Sheen, głośny kaznodzieja amerykański, opowiada, że pewnego razu - zaproszony z konfer-
encją czy odczytem do jakiejś nieznanej mu miejscowości – pobłądził i dzięki temu spotkał kilkunastoletniego
chłopca, z którym nawiązał ciekawą rozmowę.
Biskup zapytał go o drogę do najbliższego motelu.
Chłopiec zamiast odpowiedzi sam postawił pytanie, aby się dowiedzieć, kim jest ów zabłąkany podróżny.
W odpowiedzi usłyszał:
Jestem biskupem katolickim.
Wskazuję ludziom drogę do nieba.

Następna niedziela to dzień Zielonych Świąt a później
Uroczystość Trójcy Świętej i Boże Ciało.
Program naszej
szkoły katolickiej obejmuje przedszkole, zerówkę i klasy od 1 do 8. Do przedszkola można zapisać dzieci,
rano do 8:30 wieczorem.
ramach nauki religii odbywa się przygotowanie dzieci do Pierwszej Komunii Świętej i do Sakrametu
Bierzmowania. Lekcje odbywają się w języku angielskim. Więcej informacji podamy później.
Nauka religii w języku polskim odbywa się w Polskiej Szkole im. Mikołaja Reja, która kończy rok
szkolny w piątek, 21-go maja Mszą Świętą o godzinie 4:30 p.m. na którą zapraszamy wszystkich uczniów,
nauczycieli, rodziców i parafian.
pierwszo-komunijnych z rodzinami i wszystkich parafian. W poniedziałek, 17-go maja nie będzie Mszy
Świętej i Majówki ponieważ księża wezmą udział we Mszy Świętej w parafii Św. Konstancji o godzinie
Ks. Ryszard
