Communicate for Work

Eective communication at work is the imparting or exchanging of information through the use of writing,
speaking or an alternative medium. I am an eective speaker and an attentive listener. I am able to
understand someones situation by applying attention to what they have to say. I am very friendly and open,
with an approachable personality. I hold a lot of empathy for people, respecting their situation by being openminded.
For example while working in teams for school group activities, I am faced with the duty to eectively
contribute in discussions for the best possible outcome of the task. I listen thoroughly to every opinion, while
also speaking up to convey my point of view. I engage in discussions to voice my perspective, and to consider
the majority judgment, in order to complete the task achieving the best possible outcome where everyones
position of the topic is expressed and I feel as though I have contributed successfully.
Criminal Lawyers are involved in active communication by means of interviewing clients to discuss their
issues, negotiating settlements of disputes, confer with colleagues with specialties in appropriate areas of
legal issue to establish and verify bases for legal proceedings and represent clients in court or before
government agencies. My proficient communication skills will benefit to perceive meaning to be duties,
completing them with accuracy and eciency.

Work with Roles, Rights and Protocols

Working with roles, rights and protocols is a significant skill for work. Considering what is morally justified,
playing assigned functions and proceeding to the established code of behaviour in the workplace is critical. I
am very sensitive to being accountable for someone or for a task. When I make a promise or assigned to a
specific role, I make sure I always follow through eectively.

For example, in the past I have been placed with the responsibility of planning activities for kids at large
events within my group of family friends to make sure they are fun and enjoyable. I planned these
responsibilities with attention, taking into account details such as the kids interests and games that could be
played while simultaneously considering the consequences of my actions that are reflected through the kids
expectations and level of engagement. As a result, the games and activities turned out to be very exciting and
entertaining.
As a Criminal Lawyer, I would have the roles, rights and protocols of drafting, reviewing documents and
contracts and analysing information as well as undertaking research to ensure that accurate advice is given
and that procedure is followed correctly. These tasks require a very strong sense of accountability and they
are reflected as the outcome. Being able to work with roles, rights and protocols will enable me to apply my
accountability to all my actions, increasing my job engagement.

Identify and Solve Problems

Being able to conduct critical thinking in order to identify problems and issues associated vocational duties
and roles and furthermore applying the skill of complex decision making into solving the problem is
mandatory within the workplace. I am able analyse, evaluate and interpret information to solve problems.
When making decisions I can accurately judge all aspects of the problem and establish a criterion. I am
able to forecast the outcome of each option in the criteria to determine which option is the best for that
particular situation.
For example, I oered help and support when one of my cousins was going through a stressful situation. I
assisted her in dealing with her problem by thinking beyond the immediate situation and asking questions
about dierent aspects in order to positively transform her mindset. I also gathered information and assessed
alternative options to evaluate the source of her problem. As a result of the reassurance and armation, she
looked upon her situation in a more optimistic manner and decided to move forward,

As a Criminal Lawyer, I will be obliged to the tasks of analysing the probable outcomes of cases, using
knowledge of legal precedents, studying constitution, statutes and decisions of judicial bodies to determine
ramifications for cases as well as searching for and examining public and other legal records to write opinions
or establish ownership. These responsibilities will require in depth analytical understanding to rectify a
favourable solution for clients and sustaining this skill will help me in fulfilling my duties to the best of my
ability.
